TAMU vs. University of Houston?

(Sorry for writing this in the UT forum, but this is the only Texas forum that is active)

I’m asking from an undergrad Business perspective. Which university would be better? I know that TAMU is ranked , but is the rankings accurate for the big picture, which is getting a good job. For example, TAMU is ranked, but it isn’t located in a business city. This hurts TAMU when it comes to placing students in internships, right? Internships really helps when graduation comes around. UH has a highly respected undergrad B-School, but is’nt ranked. But UH is located in Houston which is better College Station when it comes to Business(Oil). Houston is a great city for internships.

So which school would be better to get a good job? I also know that when it comes to getting an MBA, job experience is very important. To me it seems that UH, even though not getting enough credit, is a better school to get a degree in Business.

Which school has more connections?

Can UH compare with UT? They are both in good business cities. I don’t know about the quality of education at UH, but I heard the B-School is highly respected. I pretty sure UT has a good quality of Education, but class sizes can be really huge.

Is a business degree from a Texas school as valuable in the Northeast, mainly states like NY and MA, as it is in Texas?

Thank You All for reading this long post, but I really want to be able to pick which school would be best to go to if I am not accepted to UT.

As a current Texan, I would say A&M. Houston is mainly a commuter school and my D (at Rice) says a lot of the kids are miserable there. Not much college life. A&M has an incredible alumni network and is a very unique place. Not a beautiful campus, but has it's own unique personality.

I'd say that as far as the schools in general, I would agree with Momof WildChild. But you raise some very good points about the business aspect of living in a big city vs. College Station, Faxanadue. I will tell you that I had two nephews go to A&M and they both received good internships in their fields (finance and something to do with construction management) . But I think that they were summer internships.
