Tanabe scholarship legit?

<p>Hey, I just applied to the Gen and Kelly Tanabe scholarship and was wondering if anyone knows if it is legitimate or a scam? It seems so easy to apply to and kind of sketchy...</p>

<p>Yeah, it does look pretty legitimate. I don’t like how they don’t list the winners full names, but I guess that could be for privacy purposes. I searched to try and see if it was a scam, and nothing really came up. Gen and Kelly Tanabe are real people/authors, so as of right now, I’d say you’re ok.</p>

<p>Thank you for applying to our scholarship. It is legitimate and we’ve been offering it for over 10 years now. (We used to only accept paper apps and now we’re 100% online.) You are wise to watch out for scholarship scams – they’ve been around since before the Internet! But our program is real. In general, we do not list full names for privacy reasons – especially since many of our winners are underage. Thank you again for taking the time to apply and best of luck!</p>

<p>I recently applied to the scholarship. However when I go to check my application status it says that my application is not available. </p>

<p>@md1945 I’ve noticed from other online apps that when my app is being reviewed it’s no longer available. Probably the same here.</p>

Hello. The scholarship says that I can write a personal statement or I can write about any topic of my choosing. So, is that correct? I just want to make sure.

It’s not a “scam” but it’s not a good use of your time. Lots of fastweb kids who don’t know how to really apply for scholarships fill that one out. Way oversaturated.
