When will the computer store start offering the pre-packaged TAP computers for new Duke students? If any current students bought a Mac with this program -- were you able to still get a big rebate on a printer like you would if you bought it at an Apple store?

Dont think they have printer rebates, but luckily, you don’t need a printer. Black and white printing is free on campus and it’s laser so it’s a lot faster than w/e you’d buy. I had a printer freshman year and donated it after because I didn’t use it once. The only reason to get a Duke computer at the beginning of the year is for their very nice warranty program–basically if you break it, they fix it for you. However, for some reason, it seems like the computers bought under such warranty NEED more fixing than others do. Haha, maybe this is just a coincidence but many of my friends who got Duke computers have needed them serviced very frequently, whereas I just bought mine directly through Lenovo and have been using it for over 2 years without issue. One of my friends who just bought a new Lenovo from Duke a couple months ago has already had to have his hard drive reinstalled… Sometimes I wonder if they sell refurbished ones…
