TAP Grant and my job..

<p>I've heard just today that my TAP grant diminishes when i have a job... i only recently got this job.. but is there a certain amount of money that you have to make in order for it to begin to diminish...</p>

<p>and also.. i got into Macaulay honors at City college which is a full ride.. my estimated tap grant is around 2200.. is that money now my pocket money? can i use it for whatever i please?</p>

<p>Your NY TAP award is tied to income, like the Pell grant is, but the income limits are much higher. You should receive an award if your family income is within these limits:</p>

<ul>
<li>Dependent undergraduate students or students who are married or have tax dependents - $80,000 NYS net taxable income. </li>
<li>Single independent undergraduate students with no dependents - $10,000 NYS net taxable income</li>
</ul>

<p>Didn’t you receive an estimated TAP from your FA office? You should also have received an award letter from the HESC by now. Instructions on how to check your award can be found here:
