I got into UCLA in 2006 with a 3.46 GPA into Pre-Business Economics.
My friend just got rejected from Poli Sci with a 3.57ish. He had all pre-reqs, IGETC, TAP, etc!

I thought if you were above a 3.0 with TAP (wth pre-reqs, IGETC, etc) you were basically gauranteed! What happened?

TAP has never been a sure thing into UCLA… in fact there are no sure things in to UCLA or Berkeley. It is an advantage that puts you at the top of the intake pile for consideration - thats it.

Says on the thing you linked me… 1099 TAP certified people were accepted at 2009 and 1112 TAP certified people were accepted at 2010. There’s a constant uptrend from 2006-2010…

%wise it dropped because there’s a lot more people competing and UCLA is becoming more competitive… You have to compare it to the CACC non-tap student + all stus/all students statistics and they dropped also…

@xViral --I’m not confusing it with TAG. I was on these boards extensively in 2005-2006 and cant recall a single person with over a 3.0 who got rejected if they had TAP, IGETC, pre-reqs and all the other pieces in place.
