Has anyone here been or know anyone who has been rejected with TAP to UCLA?
I'm applying next year but my GPA isn't looking as great as I wanted it to due to some circumstances and now I'm freaking out. Yes, I am in the TAP Honors Program and, yes, I've heard of and seen the statistics, but with all the competition, you never know...

I’ve never personally heard of anyone who has, but according to stats some do. They say around 80%-90% of TAP people get in I think at most CCCs

so it could perhaps be inferred that if you are in within the top 80-90 percentile of TAP students, GPA, IGETC, and Major Prerequisite-wise, you are pretty much in.

Although this of course may definitely not hold true which is why i put “perhaps”

Of course there are people rejected with TAP, it’s not 100% guaranteed!!! But it’s a very tiny percentage, don’t think you guys are unlucky enough to fall into that category, lolz… best of luck!

Wait . . . the essays were supposed to be coherent??!

TAP doesn’t have a 100% success rate. Therefore, there HAS to be someone with a TAP who gets rejected. Just because they don’t post on this forum doesn’t mean they don’t exist. But I do agree you would have to go out of your way in order to achieve a TAP and rejection.

It mostly happens to the impacted majors though which just don’t have enough spots to take on all TAP students with at least the minimum GPA and students they think are UCLA-worthy. But TAP def is a plus. I think I saw a Biz Econ major with a 3.68 get in with TAP.

^ true, most of the time its that … but one of them was majoring in philsophy 4.0 TAP. I didnt think philosophy was an impacted major. If it was biz econ, bio, communications or something then it would have been understandable, but philo? seriously? lol
