Tapatalk?

Ok…additional issue. I have gotten a pop up on my iPad (using my browser to access CC) telling me that there is an app using Tapatalk…would I like to use it? At the same time, I have noticed some threads that look like they have been mobbed (they haven’t been…when I go back to the forum).

Is there a chance your iPad app has been somehow compromised?

BTW, I KNOW I am not the only one to get the Tapatalk message. Others were speculating that you were no longer supporting your app as apparently Tapatalk is somehow related to reading bulletin boards.

I didn’t respond to the Tapatalk query…

Please check.

Too late to edit…so here is the edit…the iPad app seems to be working today. The threads WERE moved (there were three on the same topic).

But what IS this Tapatalk popup? It “looks” like it is coming from iTunes.

I also got that “tapatalk” push option on my phone, but declined it. What is it?

Also notices that some of the ads were replaces with a “bad gateway” message for a while. Can yo give us an update onwhether there ar any residual issues from when the app was compromised a few months ago? Thank you.

I don’t believe these were residual issues, but more like ongoing issues. I was hoping someone from the tech team would stop by and explain in more detail what these latest problems were about. However, I understand there may be some marked improvements forthcoming for the app…and by golly do you guys deserve it! Admittedly, the app hasn’t gotten the attention it needs, as a large majority of our mobile traffic uses the mobile skin on the main site. Going forward, the app should start to see a bit more love. Thank you for your patience!

Thanks Lenitus.

We have recently had an issue with upgrading our mobile application with the event of iOS 6. We have taken a beating in the app store due to this and we are actively working on updating the forum app to better serve users. Yesterday we released a update library to the forum software to prepare for this upgrade. The release had some unexpected side effects as some of you noticed. We removed it as soon as we receive the feedback in this thread and others. We are working through those issues and hope to release the app and the updated library soon. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thank you for the explanation. May I make a BOLD suggestion? Next time you do something, put an SOS up letting folks KNOW that you are making a change, and ask for feedback of problems occur. Believe me, for a couple of days I thought I was the only one having these issues!
