Tapioca/Bubble/Boba Milk Tea an acceptable topic?

I tried writing all sorts of essays for the common app, but none of them seem to...ring the right way. Today at starbucks while writing Amherst's supplement though, i thought, well, ive read people who compared themselves to food. what if i compared myself to boba milktea? is food comparisons too cheesy/corny/cliche/overused? Or would looking in aother direction be better? I dont want to end up having readers expect something awfully good or else type thing going on because its a food comparison essay.

A food essay does not necessarily have to be a "comparison". Comparisons to oneself can sometimes seemed contrived and unnatural. Perhaps consider just writing an analysis/appreciation/experience piece about boba milktea, and suggest how your thoughts/ideas can translate into something that will be beneficial to your college.

I personally think comparison essays to food are a common and easy way out, but if done correctly you could have success. Are you an amazing writer? If you hesitate with this question then I don't advise you to write one.

I'd love to read an essay comparing oneself to bubble tea. Especially a taro tiki tea with black bubbles =)
