TA's and Class size

I was accepted into the Gallatin program at NYU. Im debating between Boston College (carroll) and NYU.

What are the Core classes of BC like? How many students are there in these classes? Are classes taught by TA’s or professors? If core class sizes vary then please elaborate on which classes would be bigger than others. Thank you.

Core classes suck. The concept behind them are great, but the classes are boring. For example, the history core has to be completed taking european history. The theology and philosophy core focuses mainly on western philosophers and theologians, which for someone like me, who came to college looking for a different perspective annoys the crap out of me. For the most part, classes are taught by professors. The only time I've actually had a TA is when I took my Stats class freshman year. The class was taught by a professor, but I actually learned the material from a TA.

The core seems like it is overdone. I mean, how are you supposed to have time for classes you are interested in short of taking 7 courses each semester?

Do you have ap credits? Because those can get you out of a fair bit.

Well, if you have AP credits, you can easily knock out alot of your cores. Unfortunately, I came from a high school that didn't offer any AP credits. I won't officially be done with my core until senior year, since I've forgone a potential studio art minor (along with my marketing major) to take more french courses. Also, you can knock out your theology/philosophy course in one shot, if you take Pulse or Western Perspectives, I believe.

Like I said, if you have alot of APs then you'll be able to take the classes you want. If you don't, well...look at the example I provided you. I'd love to take extra writing classes, since CSOM is short on writing and I could use a different outlet, but unfortunately, I have no space in my schedule. I'll be taking summer classes just so I can have more wiggle room.

Whats the size of these core classes in relation to non-core A&S/Carrol classes?

BUMP, anybody feel free to jump in and say something
