Lol.
I just realized you are international as well Uber, however Canada doesn't (didn't) require a passport to travel to so your like intercontinental, not international. (Dont take it as a diss that I just associated you with our lovely country)
However Lindeek Is from Germany.

Haha I have my letter hung on my magnetic wall. I took all the other garbage off of it so it could reside in peace.

so i havent been posting on CC for a while, but...

OMG I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!!! =)=)

very very surprisingly, an interviewers coming all the way to where i live (CHINA) for the interview. is this the case for every tasp applicants? i thought my interview would be over the phone.

I don't know if I quite count as international. I'm a newly inducted American military brat, living in Germany. Then again, maybe my affiliation with two different countries just makes me particularly international. Regardless, thanks, everyone.
My email was from Ellen Baer. I got the impression that others' emails were from their interviewers...?
Maybe I misunderstood. Or maybe it's because I'll have to have a phone interview. Or maybe...(TASP gasp!) I will be interviewed by the big cheese herself. That's an intimidating thought, although I'm sure she'd be a very nice woman.
Maybe I'm already worrying too much again.

Oh, and I have a magnetic wall, too!
Actually, it's more like a bulletin board, but, still, yay for magnets.
Oh, and in case I didn't make this clear (I didn't feel like editing) I was told I would have a phone interview.

I got an actual letter in the mail today. It says that there are over 180 finalists selected from more than 870 applicatents. Also it is postmarked March 2.

I got an actual letter too. It says that only 86 are selected in the end so I shouldn't feel bad that I didn't make it since I'm so highly qualified just like everybody else and all.

e_e

Don't say sorry, Telluride. I see through your word games!

I am from upstate new york, about three hours from Cornell. I'll post the actual letter:
I am pleased to tell you that you have been chosen as a finalist for the Telluride Summer Programs. You are now one of over 180 finalists competing for the 86 places in the 2007 programs. This years finalists were selected from over 870 applicants. Congratulations!

We would like to learn more about you by means of an interview conducted during March or early April. In the next several weeks, you will here from a Telluride associate who will arrange a time and place for the interview. The final decision, based on the interview report and on your essays, will be made by the Telluride Summer Programs Committee in early May. Letter results will be mailed during the beginning of May.

In preparation fo the interview you may want to read over your application, since interviews frequently explore issues discussed in the essays. If you or your parents have questions about the selection process or the program, please do not hesitate to contact me by by mail, e-mail,or telephone.

wow, I got an interview too! I didn't even bother to check my email until today, I was sure I wouldn't get it. (for the record, I haven't been lurking for the past 100+ pages. I stopped reading once the app was out of my hands to avoid the depression of liking it even more and then not getting an interview)
I second the fastest mood swing ever thing :)

geez, at this rate everyone at tasp will have already known each other. by our affectionate usernames on CC, of course. "whoa, are you million$baby? this is cuddlysheep!"

Sheep are cuddly, hence my name.
I know, it makes no sense.
It would be soooooooo cool if we were all selected for TASP! It would make it ten times more fun...:)

hey, did you guys all get the actual letter in the mail? i live in nyc, which is relatively close to cornell, and i haven't received anything yet, which is making me worried.
