Tasp 2007

3681 before interviews have even started.

disgusting.

if by disgusting you mean EXTREME then yes

and awesome

totally extremely awesome, nate! :D excellent job to all who got interviews. i got my letter yesterday and i was jumping up and down, resplendent in 50 pounds of school stuff, amidst the gray piles of slush. XD

Oh the dramatic irony Million$ I think I just cried.

Seriously.

I got asked to JP today :D but it was such a boring ask that I was rather disappointed.

See, aeschina, I have insanely high expectations for all aspects of my life.

DUDES AND DUDETTTESSSSS

We have now achieved front page of CC status.

PWNAGE YARRRRRR :)

One of CC's busiest sub-communities XD

YARRRR

Don't we love ourselves :D

Haha. "A bunch of Narcissists with nothing to do but talk on CC.

Haha. That is very true.

But still, front page status. That means...everything...to somebody like me who finds no joy in reality and has to resort to online forum threads to fill that empty void in her life.

I could start crying any minute now...so happy.

Yes. I cried so hard that I'm tired and going to sleep now. Good night.

Wow. 10 on a saturday.

I'm just trying to keep myself up right now so I can go out later.

any coloradans among you interviewees?

and the tasps
and the nights

i can see you
i can tasp you

Just curious, did anybody take the SATs this saturday?

I took the SAT yesterday! I definitely messed up two math problems on accident, which is really aggravating but... whatever. What did you think of it?

i took the SATs yesterday too! i thought it was okay, but i thought the vocab for the sentence completions were harder than usual. at least two questions wrong just from vocab alone. oh well. i'm just really hoping i don't have to retake it again, because i'm looking forward to ceremoniously burning every remnant of SATs in my house.

"No one from Telluride reads this thread."

Wrong. Many of the people "from Telluride" (i.e. interviewers, admissions committee members) ARE former TASPers. And some of us occasionally read these threads.

My advice: chill out! Look over your applications, think about the things you wrote. Treat the interview like a conversation; put an effort into understanding and being thoughtful about the questions you're asked. Don't be a jerk. You'll be fine.

[Apparently I just got censored for using an inappropriate synonym for "jerk." So I just edited this post. Times have changed on these boards...]

Haha. "Times have changed"

I'm sure times have changed as well in the fact tht when you were applying to TASP (As I assume from your post) people weren't freaking out like they are now.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'

Actually, when I was applying to TASP, these boards didn't exist.... and e-mail was a novelty. No, I don't think people freaked out as much. At least I didn't (and there were definitely many things I freaked out about, including my grades sometimes). TASP just seemed like an awesome opportunity -- but also a remote possiblity. I had no idea what other sorts of people were applying or who would be there, until the day I arrived.
