Tasp 2007

communal living = just how you see yourself in a group setting, etc, basically how you would function at tasp.

did you email your interview and ask him? my interviewers didn't say anything specific about the topics being covered during the interview...

o right that makes sense...stupid how i couldn't put two and two together

the second i saw it i thought of APUS...brooks farm etc...blah school sucks

it was just in his e-mail

hmmm
Director: maybe it was a red herring....

And JustanothaCCer: The 3 things I listed are the main community service clubs in Tako and mine area.

Hehe.

I'm in CSF! Just for fun, mostly. Plus one of my favourite colours is green, so it's a great excuse to wear green (since the tshirt is a bright green :D) Now all I need to do is find a club with an orange tshirt...

Haha editor applications come out tomorrow >< for journalism...I WANT EIC SO BADLY!!! It's like, in competition with TASP decisions, that's how badly I want it, oh my! And I find out the day after my interview...or at least within a few days...AHH why does everything have to happen that weekend...major journalism workage (probably 15-16 hours on Friday + Saturday), junior prom <- AHH (in a good way), TASP interview <- AHHH (don't know if it's good or bad), editor decisions <- AHHH (i'm afraid it's going to be bad...), other random assorted stuff.

Our newspaper is like my only passion, hehe...I put HOURS into it. If I don't get EIC I'm going to cry :( I don't know which one I want better...TASP or EIC...I do think I have a better chance of become EIC than TASP, though :P

Never have I wanted things so badly in my life! -_-

If I'm not thinking about TASP I'm thinking about EIC. Haha. How sad.

OMG Tako. your thoughts have strayed.

GL with EIC!!!

Alas, yes, my thoughts have strayed.

My thoughts stray a lot though. Like omg so today we had people come to our school, you know, to see how good it is :P One of those silly visits.

ANYWAY my math teacher is THE funniest person ever. This old lady (to see how good our math department was, of course) came in, and (he's super smart..but old, so he messes up a lot :P) we were working on this problem and he kept on messing up, so he starts SWEARING in front of her. OMG it was HILARIOUS that look on her face OMG I could not stop laughing.

And it wasn't even the funniest part! Because he messed up yet again, so he totally turns and practically yells (except not), "You're making me nervous, lady!"

HAHAHA I could have died laughing.

Sounds like a math-y bait and switch. =O

Oh, I have stooooories about "communal living." I've been doing it full-time for four years, and during the summer for seven. =O My current good ones relate to my current (INSANE) roommate. Actually, I could use some advice on this one.

I'm a new junior, right? So this girl, my roommate, without talking to me more than once LITERALLY, starts making up lies about me and spreading them around the school. I thought this nonsense only happened in after-school specials, but apparently not. Anyway, several people have recently come up to me and been like, "Actually, I didn't talk to you in the beginning of the year because of what your roommate was saying about you, but now I realize it isn't true. Sorry about that."

So I'm a pretty mellow person (they play a game here: get Iris mad) but this hurts my feelings more than it makes me mad. I don't really get why this girl would do this. If she has a genuine problem with me...like if I'm too messy for her taste, I would prefer she complain about that to her friends and then LET ME KNOW SO I CAN FIX IT, rather than making up stuff like, let's see, that I'm a lesbian. Which is not true, by the way.

So if the interviewers ask me about communal living, I have horror stories like this to impart, but also tales of the BEST ROOMMATES EVER who I still keep in touch with, years later, and adore.

/rant

Wow, I seriously did think that stuff only happened on TV, Iris! That's horrible. :( Hoo-rah for public education (only most of the time, not so much).

Hm, my interviewer hasn't really imparted any indications on what we'll be focusing on during the interview. I guess I'll just look over all of my essays and whatnot.

Less than a week 'til D-day.....dum dum dum cue suspenseful music

Like unefleur, I too am wavering between panic and excitement. I know it's going to be challenging and nerve-wracking, but at the same time (in a a strange, inexplicable way) I'm looking forward to it. Bah, Monday just needs to come - I can't bear this prolonged anticipation.

Jenny - I have my fingers crossed for you. I hope your newspaper advisor sees you like we do and knows how important EIC is to you. GOOD LUCK! From what I know, I think you'd make an excellent EIC :)

Hehe my newspaper advisor is sooo cute. She's only 24, and she lives with this history teacher who teaches downstairs from her room :D.

She's kind of weird though...but in a cute way. Like today...I was sitting in the rally court with a friend, and I see her, so I wave! And then she waves back and totally comes over and raises her hand...and I'm like, wait, what? And then we have like an ET moment where we touch palms for basically no reason whatsoever. Hahahaha she's funny :)

I like my teachers :)

And Iris, I'm jealous. I have never been away from home for more than 3 days...

3 days?!?!?!
Wow I am all ways away for prolonged periods of time.

Iris...Thats terrible but so common :(. When it comes to the subject of communal living my understanding is not only are you talking about physically living and your battle scars (In iris's case) but how you function in a group dynamic and what you can bring to the TASP community.

I just slept from 5-9. Just ate and now going back to bed. Night Y'all :)

Also, there's just some technical questions about diet and medical concerns, but final roommate assignments are made after you get in through a questionnaire

Shut UP, Corey! :P haha. And yes, I'm too good for the schools here. Nyeh-nyeh! :P Nah, I just prefer to sleep in instead of going to see a place I won't be attending. grin

LOL!! Well Tako...try getting involved in community service projects. Hell, start one yourself. It's good for your resume, it gives you a fuzzy feeling, AND you help out others. What's not to love? Really. It's all coo' and everyone wins.

But like Corey said, do what you're passionate about. Don't just do stuff to pad your resume. It will probably WORK, but it will not make YOU happy. So, meh.

Key Club is more or less like Interact, which is a high-school version of Rotary International (Rotaract is the college version). They're all community service organizations. :) I'm the Interact prez this year. Woowoo.

Well, that's not random DirectorsCut. You WILL be living with a bunch of people and it will be kind of intense. Soooo, yeah.

Oh jeez, Iris. What a betchy roommate. Is that really what she said? Ergh. People are dumb. Don't let it get to you because she is definitely not worth it.

Yep. Like Globber said, after you get in, they send you a form to fill out; it asks about food preferences, allergies, and room-related stuff (like, if you're messy, what time do you usually go to bed, if you want your room to be a study space or a hang-out place, etc).

Anyway. I'm off to study a history map, have breakfast, and go to school. Peace out!

I have nothing against the 3 clubs I listed. However recently our school had to make a rule that you couldn't be in all three-- As many people were doing so.

My favorite club here is the Harry Potter club. The cover just came out, you can figure how much we're all freaking.

It's the end of an era. I've been reading these since the first one came out in England and my dad brought it back from a business trip, back in second grade, and now it's ending, the year I should have finished high school. It's kind of perfect. <3

Awww. And HP's 17 and I'm 17 and tear

ehehe. I read it in 7th grade, when the first four books were out. The fourth is still my favorite. After that, they were just not the same. I blame fanfiction. :P Blah. I'm anxious to read the last book, though. Oh so very excited.

er. unlike everyone else in this world, i've never read harry potter.

well, i read half of the first one in third grade, but didn't get around to finishing it. my friends all shun me for this. but it's true. lash away if you must.

Oh dear, never EVER read HP? As in, not even finished ONE???

Well, well, this simply will not do. I smell a prime convert candidate ...mischievous grin

CC IS BACK.

I was suffering from CC withdrawal. Anyway, time to sleep. Haha, it comes back just as I plan to sleep. How coincidental.

I was very sad last night because CC died. I thought it was my school computer, but no...
