Tasp 2007

hahah oh gosh, when ken gets into tasp, he'll be the talk of the town in his orange (gold?) speedo. XD

aida, will you post what you thought of people's essays?

Psh. Telluride will give him an interview JUST so they can ask him about the speedo. dies

MOJO FLAVOR KICK, whatismouse! Really. REALLY. I thought you were a girl, haham GOD. It's the nicknames. My radar is off.

Other exciting ologies, lol.

As I read these, I'm thinking up so many questions. I WANNA INTERVIEW! WAH!

I want an interview because it means that I've moved on to the second round. >_>;;

...plus interviews are fun.

I'm sending you my interesting essays now Aida. (Interesting meaning "not about John Donne or which course I want to take, or my reading list or college plans.)

On a side note, WHY do they want to know our future plans? As if anyone willing to write six essays on the chance of an interview is not going to a top college and probably getting a Ph.D or other advanced degree. Have a little faith, Telluride.

Oooo, how can I wait for two months to find out if I moved on? T_T

"And the infamous Kyzan, show thyself, as well!"

Haha, don't worry Aida, I'm still here. So I get to be infamous now :D? Yay! Unlike some of you guys who applied online, i am still polishing up my app until the 26th; then I go to take my SATs on the 27th...lol such a bad coincidence.

Oh btw, I tasted the world's hottest hotsauce today and ALMOST died. The restaurant owner placed a drop on my taco, and it seriously took me over an hour to eat it, with like 543436462632 gallons of milk. On this fateful day, I have lost half of my taste buds.

Dang, I love you guys :)

And I didn't get to see these speedo pictures, ken. Show me! I want to see how hot you are :P

Lawdy the girls here are boy-deprived!!

You want to see speedos?? Join the swim team. You guys all live in California!! That shouldn't be hard!!

Haha I see speedos plenty. Except our water polo team isn't really that hot :/ which is a bummer.

In fact, there are NO hot guys at my school, like, whatsoever. It's so sad :(

It's because all the boys are Asian. Well. It's probably because my school has so few Asians, but I find Asian boys sooo unattractive!!

Even though I'm Asian!!! Ahhhhhh!

LOL. ^^

Hmmm I don't really have race-biasedness in terms of how attracted I am to them. Except white boys tend to be hotter on the whole for some reason :P

I've met a couple hot asian guys, but they never go to my school! :(

ok if you really want to see my picture u can myspace/facebook me i guess...pm me haha

or just wait for tasp and see teh real thing :)

btw in response to how i get 7 hours of sleep a day...well i take 4 ap classes, 2 honors, i dunno i just do my work early. this board has been changing things a little lol. i would get more but i have swimming in the mornings. bah

Wow, I get less sleep than you do and my plate isn't nearly as full...

I take two honors classes and a 1-hour daily art (photo). I have varsity volleyball for two hours a day plus half an hour of training...then Model UN and the Handbells Ensemble...all together, by the time study hall comes around I haven't finished any homework at all. Honors Chem here is the equivalent of AP Chem (we challenge the test at the end of the year) so that's a solid two hours a night.

That's not fair. T_T

DUDE! Director! (You're Ken right??)

You're like me. I have 4 AP classes (well 3, but 2 are 1.5 periods/credits) and I have swim practice in the mornings and afternoons. I have orchestra/band stuff too though. Yet I don't get enough sleep! I go to bed at 10:30 and wake up at 4:30. It's not so much the AMOUNT of sleep I guess...just the RIDICULOUS HOURS...

Sleep deprivation is delish.

Wow you guys are so hardcore with all your AP's and what not. 4 AP's! And as I browse the four year plan of many CCers, they have like 6 planned junior year -_-

I'm excited! The other summer program I'm applying for (Carnegie Mellon Pre-College stuff) has practically the same thing that my top TASP seminar choice was:

*79-276 The Global and the Local: Pittsburgh in the World *

As historical phenomena, many “global” processes - imperialism, industrialization, urbanization, and migration - leave their imprint upon the local landscape in ways that may be either painfully obvious or barely acknowledged. A freeway system, for example, is not only a transportation conduit, but reflects the rise of American military power and the centralization of federal power during the Cold War. Less dauntingly, a neighborhood Taiwanese restaurant might very well be the end product of revolutionary changes halfway around the globe. Each week, the class will read literature that discusses the emergence of global systems of exchange in the modern and contemporary periods. The course will also require students to participate on weekly field trips within the city and its environs, in order to observe the physical environments created or altered by worldwide events.

OMG I BETTER GET INTO AT LEAST ONE THEY SOUND SO COOL!!!! :(

I'm totally not going to :( and be lazy and sleep and watch tv all summer

hahaha, how can you guys not like Asian guys??

Well, freshman year I fell apart and APs were never thought to be an option for me, even senior year, until sophmore year when I basically woke up and stopped sucking at life.

i have... four ap's (but one is studio art), two honors, a sport, and four clubs i actually participate in/lead. not the best situation to be in. but hey, i know people a lot worse off than me.

and i totally agree with you about the asian boys thing, billy_liar. lmao. although there are exceptions. and i know that ken is going to say he's an exception in response to that comment.

Asian boys have little...eyes. XD

Oh haha...I didn't know he was Asian!! Though I probably should've assumed as much.
