TASP 2015

I didn’t mention a lot of interesting books I read, oops. The one thing I had the guts to put in was a fanfiction I read lol. I’m probably going to get written off for that one, but hey, it was written better than a LOT of books I’ve read.

I don’t think TASP will change my personal philosophy. I’ll keep the same ideals. TASP is about sharing your ideas, I guess. And I don’t usually embrace what others think about my views. (In fact, I get intimidated; and then I flip on the mainstream). Let’s face it, the main reason 90% of you feel like “puking” over TASP admissions is because it’s a resume builder, and those things are cool to have for college. Stop stressin’. It’s not a seminar with SPA, and it’s pointless to repeat.

Heh, I didn’t mention any of the fanfiction I read, though quite a few are better than published series. Such as a 3.4 million word behemoth of a story that is honestly better than anything else I’ve read, that I can recall.

@bulletpoet I think that’s a little unfair, I actually feel as if most of the people who are applying for TASP want to go because its such a great experience and they actually want to learn, not just because its a resume builder - although the prestige of tasp is a plus.

@bellabill‌ I completely agree–I almost wish there were alternative, not-as-selective programs similar to TASP that I could apply to as back ups because the experience itself sounds life changing.

I think it’s kind of a mix but pretty representative of me overall…I hope they see it that way!

Does anyone know which day we will find out this week? I’m so nervous…every time I think about opening the email I want to puke/scream/cry

Last year, it was a Tuesday (the fifth) I think. Hopefully this Tuesday (the third) or Thursday (the 5th) if they go by day of the week, or date. I just hope it’s sometime this week. I’ll be excited just to get into the interview stage, though that just prolongs my nervousness. If I’m not in the interview stage, it does let me make other plans during the time-period for college things. Or girlfriend related things. :expressionless:

I hope my essays stood out…

The year before it was Monday the 4th

Surprisingly I’m not stressing out. Probably because I know my essays weren’t TASP caliber. Oh well. Good luck everyone and relax! :-bd

Alright it’s officially March. Tomorrow is the first business day of March. Debating being /that/ student and calling them up to ask when results will be out. I keep trying to trample down any hope because my essays and book list really do not display as much maturity as I have to offer so </3

I kind of wish I could go back and rewrite my essays so that they better reflect my strengths and how I could contribute to the TASP community, but since time turners do not exist, allow me to wish you all the best of luck! We all worked hard for this and not moving on to this next stage will not define your potential to succeed elsewhere. There are many other great opportunities out there to take advantage of, and I have no doubts that you will all become the leaders of tomorrow

I wish you all the best of luck when decisions come out! I have exams this week, so hopefully if (and when) I get rejected I will be too absorbed with the stress of exams to brood.

I wish you all the best of luck as well! I know a lot of us don’t rank our chances very well, but someone has to get in. And we all got out applications in, so we’ve got at least a chance!

Same here, @thegoldenage…but alas all we can do is wait and soon we will know. Good luck to everyone! I’m sure regardless we’ll all have great summers! Plus hopefully we will be able to use some of the ideas from our TASP essays for college admissions!

I think I’m going to delete my Gmail app lol

I wouldn’t blame you. It’s so nerve-wracking, the wait!

And to think, even if we get one tomorrow, or later this week, we’ve still got to get through the interviews!

Ugh…I’m out of school tomorrow, so I’ll be biting my nails all day waiting to hear!

^ Exactly. Getting an interview would be like winning the lottery, but then you gotta win the lottery again to get the money.

I don’t even know why I’m worrying about it- the chances of me getting chosen are so slim. Hope, you dastardly thing.

I’m so nervous. Every email I get tomorrow is going to give me a heart attack.
