Yeah, I’ve started mine, particularly the one about a piece of text, music, or art that changed you prospective on it. I’m just writing it and trying to refine and really polish it.
I’m also applying to TASP this year !!! I found this program very interesting because there doesn’t seem to be much of an emphasis on academics or accolades, mostly on how you portray yourself in your essays
@P1nkSky My english teacher said that them asking that question is probably just to judge your intellectual vitality, so they would most likely just rather that you list your favorites so that they can check through the list quickly.
For the first essay, do I have to answer both questions in the essay or do I need to you choose one? I’m finding the task of connecting both questions a little difficult. The questions are: What experiences you felt fortunate or unfortunate to have? and what part of your education has challenged you the most?
Hey, I have the same question as P1nkSky, do they want both questions answered, or just focus on one and answer that question? I believe that it is that you choose oone of them, not interconnect both. If anyone has an answer with evidence to support that, please do so.
Secondly, I would like to ask anyone on this thread who’d know about the nominations section. Can you ask a teacher if they are willing to nominate you through the email? And kind of email them an informal rec letter to nominate you to TASP?
@xManWolves, I do not think that a synopsis is necessary. I think that you should dive right into the gist of things and how it has affected and inspired you.
@Acortez122 It isn’t really necessary to ask a teacher to nominate you. You can just apply yourself, and it doesn’t make a difference at all in the admissions process whether or not a teacher nominated you.
@collegehelp1010 TASP is only for current juniors. The Telluride Association has another program for rising juniors, though, called TASS which focuses on Black studies, if that’s something you’re interested in.
For prompt #3, how “recent” does it have to be? Can I talk about something that happened in middle school if it was significant to my development as a person? I’m worried bc 2014 doesn’t feel that recent to me, but I don’t have anything else to write about.
