Hey!
I just found out about TASP yesterday, and applied on the spot. It took me a few hours - feels like a new essay writing record. The questions were really inspiring and I just wrote freely, haha. :))
I don’t know if that was the best decision, but I had fun writing those essays - if I don’t get in, I still got something out of the process. [-O< I do hope I at least make it to interviews though.
I’ll start it off. For the short answer question where it asks for a list of your favorite books, movies, etc. do they want just a list of the names or the names with a small sentence about why you like that particular thing?
hey all! I attended TASP 2017 and was thinking about making a video on how I got in, since every year there are so many people interested in applying to TASP on this website. if I do, would y’all want me to post it here? it’d go over my essays, short answers, stats, etc. as well as general tips and things ^.^ as a former TASPer I always get messages from people asking for advice and I want to help you guys, so if this would be a good way to do it I’d love to know!
I also have a vid up on my later experiences with getting into Columbia, and considering the demographic of this group, here’s that one as well in case it can be of any help to y’all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtalOIpAIPU&t=1329s
@5toryt3ll3r I just finished watching your video and it was sooo helpful. I loved your unique writing style and personal anecdotes. What did you think of the seminar itself and what was the tasp community like?
