OK so here's the deal. I got the TASP app by mail a couple of days ago but yet I still don't know my PSAT scores. I've heard before on other CC threads that the application is usually given to those with 220+ scores or at least top 1% nationwide(whatever score that happens to be). I don't want to get my hopes up, but I want to investigate if there is truly a correlation between these two things.

So please post your PSAT score, as well as your percentile nationally, if you received the TASP application by mail. Thank you!!!!!

I never received an app, and I got a 227. Isn't that supposed to be "good" ? I got 80 W and 75 CR too...am I not good enough for TASP? I'm applying online anyway though...and the online app doesn't have a place to indicate test scores. Hope it's not too important then? Eeek now I'm worrie

If you didn't receive an app, that doesn't mean your score wasn't good enough. TASP just sends out apps to people who have high PSAT scores or are URMs, I believe. You should be checking out the related TASP threads on here. This question has been brought up already.

I got one and I got a 226, 99th percentile( 72-76-78). What text are you gonna write about? I only have like 15 books on my list though, and no regular periodicals.

Text? Probably some existentialist philosophy book. Hooray for recycling application essays!!

Periodicals...don't worry about it. I only put down my newspaper (e.g., The San Francisco Chronicle if I lived in San Fran), Time magazine, and Nat Geo.

Yeah, I read Newsweek at my school alot.. and Rolling Stone... Im thinking either a Clockwork Orange or One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest, but I have to finish the latter first. ;)

Yeah, isn't it amazing? "Tolchocked him right in the litso"- I loved it! What kind of philosophical books are you thinking about? Like the Stranger and Naseua? Or along different lines?

Strangely enough, I got a mere 213 and I got an app around the 22nd or 23rd (not sure because I was on vacation). I wasnt even in the 99th percentile. I also heard that they do percentile by state or zip code or something of the sort, and, considering my zip code has to be one of the highest-scoring in the country, my 213 would probably not even be in the 98th percentile. No teacher has talked to me yet about the possiblity that they may have nominated me for TASP. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I marked Hispanic on my PSAT answer sheet. Who knows?
