She said they should be sending the letters out soon. I also apoligized for calling before it came in the post, and explained there was a deadline for another program, and she said that it's not a problem at all, that other students have deadlines, and that she would want to know, too. So don't be afraid to call, I didn't even need to explain myself. I just asked if she had the decisions for the summer program and she asked for my name.

So, don't be afraid to call! Good luck to everyone, really!!!

And don't be afraid to call! I know it would be easier to read the decision on paper in the comfort of your home as opposed to hearing it on real-time and having to respond to it verbally, but if you want to know, just call!!! If you don't feel like calling, which is understandable, it should be coming soon, so don't worry about it.

If anyone will be around Cornell this summer and wants to hang out, PM me. I might be going backpacking for a month, but I'll likely be around all summer.

Okay I'm uber-nervous now. I'm calling tomorrow after my AP Calc Exam. I figure if I find out I didn't get in before my exam I might bomb it. Damn I didn't realize how badly I wanted to go to TASP until I imagined how I'd feel if I didn't get in.

I'm new to the board, I joined today so I could talk to other potential TASPers. My name is John, I'm from Austin, Texas, and I recently found out (I recieved an email today) that I have been accepted to "Cornell I: Truth in History". If anyone else out there going to that same program would like to talk, exchange instant message screen names, I would be totally willing. I would love to get a taste of who else is going before hand. Anyway, congratulations to those of you who got in. I'm anticipating an exciting summer!

i do humbly apologize as stupidity lashes out first, the only way i can ease the pressure from taking this bc test and my sister talking on the phone is writing stupid things on the internet. I was very speculative because of the fact no one else got the letters, and the fact your previous posts aren't even in the tasp threads (stupid me clicked on posted threads). I apologize and congradulate you upon acceptance, who knows maybe we shall meet? :) bad start stupid me hhahaha
too bad i couldn't edit my post for some reason.......

navyblue, are you brave enough to call or e-mail about your TASS status? I'm dying to know if the student I nominated got in. She interviewed on the Monday after Easter with someone who lived in the Telluride House at Cornell but now works here in Silicon Valley.

I'm probably more anxious than my student, because this is the 2nd year that I asked the TA to send information to local students,
and she is the first to actually apply. I wrote a really postive, mushy rec letter for her, but everything I said was honest.

I think I'll shoot a harmless e-mail to Ellen Baer, because the phone lines are probably busy with TASP candidates.

it seems everyone who got an email was accepted to cornell I- hopefully this means the rest of us will get one shortly. in any case, im calling tomorrow.

navyblue, I did e-mail the Telluride Association and my student was not selected for TASS. She may not know it yet and I promised not to tell her.

I'm devistated !!!

Fortunately, my nominee has always demonstrated great strength and character. After she cries, she will move on to other opportunities. This process, which actually starts in November for nominators, is very emotionally draining.

Navy, I wish you the best in all of your pursuits !!!
