Yalie2007, that’s not quite true. If all you’re are interested in is one aspect of DS (particularly lit, possibly philosophy as well) then there are better ways to do it that don’t take up your entire schedule. But if you actually want to take the entire DS curriculum, it will take equally long regardless of how you do it, and there is no class that’s really equivalent to DS Historical and Political Thought, and the closest equivalent in philosophy is a lecture class that doesn’t allow for the same depth of discussion and access to and contact with professors.

Sure, for Lit there are a bunch of intro level English classes that have a lot of characteristics in common with DS, but that’s hardly the entirety of the program.

i am her and i am wearing a yale sweatshirt right now and thinking about which flight to take to new haven. by the way, i have met tyler and he is also perfect and therefore stanford '13.

note to the world: i am less of an ass now than i was on june 28, and i am not doing directed studies. see you in new haven, or cambridge if both the harvard admit office and i fall into some kind of devilish madness between now and may 1.

Don’t worry everyone, I’ve met her and know from experience that she’s making half of it up. She’s actually a 3.2 student. Quite a writer though, eh?

You will probably get into H too. My guess is that you are ridiculously aggressive, and you may fit in more at H if you really are a self-described “ass.” Both H and Y will have same caliber of students, but H students tend to be more ambitious (I would argue H students are so ambitious they are too often willing to cheat/backstab etc so this may not be a good thing though). Choose Y if you are looking for serious intellectualism and a pleasant social climate without as much naked ambition. Otherwise choose H if you really are an “ass” because Yalies will not tolerate hubris…

^ woah chill out. Didn’t she say she was less of an ass?! The tone of that comment you just might make one think that the students at Yale are agressive, pretentious asses who badmouth Harvard kids based off of foolish hearsay and stereotypes.

Plus, she looks like she’s perfectly kind (hehe I stalked you on blue marble, philoglossia).

i love the weird interaction between admits.yale.edu, facebook, and collegeconfidential. so much information, so many people to cyberstalk, so much time to waste.
