Tasp?

Darnit monny, you're not supposed to help the other person!!

I stand corrected... sorry vegangirl, sorry Mon... so what did Laura actually say...

I heard WashU had so much work you guys couldn't bond very well. But it's probably another lie isn't it.

Your war declaration smelled of old women. Actually, we were all too lazy to write one up and send it.

we did have a lot of work. but many people simply chose not to do some/a lot/all of it, so it didn't get too much in the way of socializing. i mean, we did have a few people who i felt like didn't bond that much with the group as a whole, but beyond them, i made a lot of excellent friends and so did most of the people in the group. :) i think our factota were a little unnecessarily pessimistic about the whole situation, which is probably where you got that info.

re: the things we sent you, did you guys not have an interTASP committee? our factota told us we had to have one. and that was what spawned the war declaration. lol.

haha, we had no such committee. your declaration was the first diplomatic press we received, and we intended to something...we just never got around to it.

We strenuously avoided getting past the planning stage, as with so many things at our TASP...
lol reading club
lol discussion groups

lol...we read book 1 of paradise lost, so technically we got past the planning stage

how much course reading did you guys have?

um, 4 books+the bible and a 200 page packet. You?

two books, a course packet of several hundred pages, and various random packets the professors gave us. It translated to about 50-100 pages per night...sometimes more, occasionally a little less.

We had 7 books, but the amount we read in each book varied. Some were memoirs, so they were quick reads.

We also had numerous packets to read from.

The Cornell II program was SO LAZY!!! lmao. But it was still interesting. Lots of sex and religion and medieval stuff. ;P Really, we just focused more on the interpersonal aspect of TASP than the academic one, though we still learned. I think it was for the best, too. :) I LOVE MY TASPERS!!!

Anyway. You have to read A LOT. So yes, be prepared for that, kids. I didn't go to TASS, but I had friends that went and they were all amazing people, so...yeah. :P The thing is, TASS seminars are all about black culture, so if you're into that, you can certainly get in, even if you're whiter than a sheet of PC paper. :P However, since most people that are interested in black culture and topics are BLACK, it makes sense that most TASSers are of African-American or whatever origin.
