TASS 2016!!!

y’all this is literally the most hilarious chain–just a bunch of nerve wrecked ppl talking about how worried we are for two weeks

I am just trying to think about something else

@notoriousbig Haha, so true though xD

@notoriousrbg Pretty much. I really hope they aren’t releasing it on the potential May date because that is the day of my first AP exam out of two. I don’t need to be stressed any further that day.

The response from Telluride to my email.

We should have decisions by May 2 or 3.

Regards,
Ellen Baer

Its so hard not to think about it. Im so scared and stresssed out :-SS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg6-SnUl0A0 <—what i’ve been practicing while waiting for results to come out. Jk y’all, I can’t dance to save my life.

1 week left!!! :))

@notoriousrbg This video gave my dimples dimples. :))

HI guys, my name is Kennedy and I’m a TASS Alumni (2014). If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I can honestly say TASS was the best experience of my life… and I met so many lifelong friends there.

What happened on the first day you arrived to Tass, what did a typical day look like and how well did you transition into the Tass life? @kenrmy1998

  1. The first day of TASS was pretty awkward but super fun. You pretty much do a bunch of ice breakers and get to know all of your TASSmates. We played a lot of card games and had some dance parties in the hallways.
  2. On a typical day you get up, get ready and make breakfast for yourself. ( I suggest getting a breakfast buddy so you trade off days where you have to get up early and make breakfast). Then you go to class for 3 hours. Have lunch. Do homework or any activities factotum have planned and do whatever you'd like ( I took a lot of naps or went to the gym). Have dinner ( I'd suggest having a lot of snacks in your room because sometimes the food is sketchy). And then go and hangout with friends until curfew.
  3. The transition was so easy. After the first 3 days it's hard to fathom that you haven't known everyone for your whole life. The information that you learn is unlike anything that's taught in a high school setting so it's really interesting. Also there's so much to do and things to see that everyday is an adventure (no matter how cliche that sounds). Honestly I'd say it's harder transitioning out of Tass life than it is to transition into it. Seriously, the last day of TASS we all cried like babies.

I know that was a lot… but do you have anymore questions?

Thank you for your thoughtful answers. I just got a few more questions to ask. Where was your program located, how easy was it for you to make friends, and how difficult was the workload? @kenrmy1998

@kenrmy1998 the difficulty and amount of work–did you have time to do summer work outside of the program/study for SAT or anything??

@kenrmy1998 Thanks for the answers!

I’m so stressed about the decision date. I’m testing on both the days they are possibly releasing decisions and I’m honestly thinking about not charging my phone and school-issued laptop on those days so I can focus on my exams instead of crying over getting rejected/accepted.

YO IT’S COMING SOON Y’ALL GET READY <:-P

We have 2 or 3 days left and I am definitely feeling anxious :-SS. I just hope they send results very early in the morning so I can wake up and find out rather than refreshing my email all throughout school.

@notoriousrbg My stomach just took a nosedive reading your comment. The struggle is real! :(( I really need to calm myself down…

I am trying so hard to remain tranquil, but I cannot.

Something to remember tho (maybe this will bring your spirits up)–we passed the hard part. Like statistically only around 1/4 of the people made it as finalists. Now that it’s whittled down to 120 people, we have a 50% chance of making it in–that’s pretty damn good. This means if you’re invested enough to constantly check a forum about this program and you gave your all when writing your essays/in your interview, then you shouldn’t worry too much about getting in. This 50% is also excluding all the kids who made finals and don’t actually want to do the TASS program, which means our chances go even higher. Please don’t freak out!!
