How many of you have tattoos? Thirty-six percent of those ages 18 to 25, and 40 percent of those ages 26 to 40, have at least one tattoo, according to a fall 2006 survey by the Pew Research Center. So I thought it would be interesting to see how many CCers do.

Also, share your thoughts on tattoos.

Personally, I love them. If I wasn't gonna have a professional job, I'd get a sleeve. I already have 1 which I got for my 16th birthday...and I love it.

I think that they are cool depending on what and where it is. The pop singer Rihanna has one of a trail of stars that goes from the back of one of hers ear down the back of her neck. I think it's pretty. I don't have any though. I'm not planning on getting one anytime soon.

I don't have any currently, but I will by the end of next year. I'm planning on commissioning my friend to do a painting of a squid, and getting it on my arm.

I have a hand sized "aum" symbol on my left shoulders, love it. Considering getting more pagan symbols on the right shoulder and back. Sleeves are awesome, couple friends of mine have it. Tattoos are fun.

Ask yourself if you will still want one when you're in your 70's and 80's. I can't imagine seeing 40% of older people with tattoos all over their bodies, but I guess that will happen

I wouldn't want a tattoo that everyone could see, as I think they limit your opportunities in a white-collar work place. I would, however, get a mole tattooed back on if I had to remove any of them, as odd as that may sound.

I am not against tattoos, but they have to mean something to you. Also, it is important to remember that you will age. Some parts of your skin will stay pretty much the same and wont distort the tattoo. Others (like the arm) are going to change. Just remember that when you decide where to get it.
