TAU CLOSED!!! Have to report a dropped class??!

Total panic mode. My college is on a quarterly basis. Basically, I went on the UC website to report my updated course schedule for Winter/Spring Quarter (which starts in about 7 days) because it has changed drastically since what I reported on my "planned" courses. So, there was this one class (It's not for my major prereqs, I'm done with those), POLI 1 that I had listed to take in Winter Quarter. I did take it, however I ended up dropping it and moved it over to Spring quarter. Everything else I had planned for Winter quarter is still the same though. For Spring quarter, I have different stuff. This is my first and only W I have ever gotten, and I NEEEEED to report this because I've heard that if I do end up getting into UC Berkeley, (first choice, fingers crossed!) they will rescind me for not reporting this and the changes I made to Spring quarter schedule. Note: Even though I changed around my classes for Spring quarter, I am not short on any units. I plan to fulfill all of my planned units/classes. I'M SOOOOO NERVOUSSSS DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO?

What you should do?

Call and speak with an admission officer at UC Berkeley (any other UC you applied to) that’s vastly more qualified to answer your concerns ASAP. Berkeley requires you to submit any course changes by writing to their admissions office so that might be the answer you’ll get. You probably should have called the second you found out about your situation though as decision day is quickly approaching and any lost time could be costly.

Call each of the schools individually.

What if the classes are non transferable should we wait until decisions come out to tell them?

^Would you really be willing to take that risk?

what’s the risk though its a non-transferable class I thought they didn’t care :frowning:
Edit: UCI has a report change area isn’t it better to just tell them there then call?

I’m sure they won’t care that you dropped that class. As long as it’s not a major pre-req or part of your IGETC requirement, don’t worry about it.

If you’re even the slightest bit uncertain then there’s obviously some risk there. I really don’t understand why people want to gamble with such an important decision. IT DOESN’T HURT TO CALL.

I know right? I’m at De Anza too. I’m glad I had a very early registration date and managed to update early, but dang, the quarter system does not match up to the admissions process very nicely.

Anyway, when I made my change on the TAU, I also noticed that on MyBerkeleyApp it says snail mail or fax to make changes. When I called the admissions office they said it’s pretty late in the game and since my class wasn’t GE or prereq, not to worry about a formal notification, just TAU. For you, I’d just call and see what they tell you. They may want a fax. I recommend calling between 1-2:30, though. They close the lines at 4 and they don’t always get to everyone.

I just got off the waitlist for POLI 1 yesterday, which confirmed that I can take it next quarter. So even though I took a W for winter quarter, I’ll be taking it FOR SURE next quarter. I feel like I’m already gonna get rescinded, especially if I call them tomorrow (they’re open on Mondays and Wednesdays). I’m so damn nervous.

I have heard horror stories (not sure if they are true) of students getting admitted and then rescinded because they failed to update a change of classes. Oh my god.
