So I wondered, why would the UC's make the priority date for submitting transfer academic updates on January 31st? Isn't that too early? Many transfer students will want to add or drop classes when their cc's start later than that, and these classes could make or break our applications. I worry that UC's won't see my revised TAU submitted after the priority date in which I added a class that enabled me to qualify for full IGETC certification since they only guarantee seeing the TAU before the 31st. What is up with this?

I want know the answer, too. Please someone!!!

A UCSB rep told me that they have the Jan. 31st deadline so that students know that they need to get one in. They want you to submit future updates after the deadline as your schedule changes. Once you submit a new update, an evaluator will review those changes.

I spoke to a UCLA rep today and she told me that the TAU can be updated any time prior to march without it reflecting negatively on you.

Ok, thank goodness, was afraid I screwed up. Thanks for the help guys.

The admissions offices need to start reviewing the applications (there are a lot). Since most CCCs will have Fall grades posted by the end of January, that is the minimum amount of information needed to get the review going. Spring courses can change, but for the most part the students do the best they can to stick to the information they put on the update.

Remember the admission officers are neck-deep in applications, the deadline is for their convenience …
