tax forms

Does all of the tax information need to be in by Feb. 1? The W2 and stuff?

2004 Tax returns and W2s are due May 1st. Feb 1st deadline for Profile and FAFSA.

Disregard Profile's statement about 2003 Tax returns; I contacted the Office of Student Financial Service (OSFS) and they said that we did not need to submit these forms.

Early action acceptees should expect a financial aid reward letter in Mid-March; Regular decision applicants should expect in April.

Oh thanks. That was my next question, whether we needed to send in 2003 tax forms if don't have the 2004 info. I was kind of worried because I just now saw that University Chicago requires you send in 2003 tax information by tomorrow, so I better get started on that...

I might not need to say this but...

You should use the 2003 tax returns for filling out the Profile and FAFSA if you and/or parent's income and assets don't flunctuate like a roller coaster. If you and/or parent's own a business, it's going to get complicated because earnings change; but if your and/or parent's jobs pay a stable salary, then 2003 Tax returns are a great thing to work off of for the FAFSA and Profile.

Also, expect higher traffic for FAFSA and Profile today and tomorrow.
