tax forms

Do copies of all of the tax forms need to be in by Feb. 1? All of the W2s and stuff? Or can they be mailed in later?

Wow I just saw this from the website:

Freshman Regular Notification Candidates
February 1
Submit a signed copy of your parents' 2003 federal income tax return including al schedules and W-2 forms.

I had no idea that the 2003 papers had to be sent in. Guess I have to do that by tomorrow...

it says on your app to submit the 2003 stuff with your financial aid application.

I dont know whent they want 2004 stuff but I think that might be a typo and they mean 2004 by feb 1st

crap! I totally forgot, plus I had no idea about the w-2 form thing! I just filled out the financial aid form from the university but now I need to find a farm supplement (no idea how to go about that) and get the w-2 forms copied ugh. I hate college. Plus I still have to do the damn profile.

a typo?! I don't think these people are as organized as we thought

I just submitted the FAFSA and will stop by the post office with the 2003 tax forms this morning. The next round of colleges don't need their stuff until the 15th - Chicago is early! What a scramble. Better do the 2004 taxes this weekend...

I don't believe that 2003 is a typo. As the deadline for filing 2004 taxes is April 15, and most people are not even close to being ready to file, Chicago wants to see the actual taxes for 2003 for now.

if you are accepted EA however, they want a FAFSA today. You can do it with estimates but they want the real numbers as soon as possible.

I believe employers are supposed to get W2's out by the end of january so you should have everything you need to file taxes (afterall...it is LAST year)

We scrambled and did our taxes this weekend and sent the 05-06 FAFSA last night (Monday). Phew, that was a hard deadline to meet since we just got our W-2s on Friday! When do we send Chicago the 2004 tax reports (for EA we had to send 2003 already)? Or do we send that to Profile and they resubmit?

It's just funny that I never saw the 2003 tax thing other than the website. It doesn't have that information on the paper application.

Might have gotten added after the paper app was printed. Did you get the e-mail reminder to send all the stuff in?

I'll have to send the 2003 tax forms in on the 2nd, hope they won't mind too much.

does anyone know if EA applicants need an updated CSS profile with 2004 info?

Yes, everyone does.

do you know the deadline? the email they sent me about a month ago only asked for FAFSA and 2004 taxes and didnt mention the profile

RD people don't need to worry about 2003 tax forms right?

We do according to their checklist. That's the thing, I didn't think we did and I checked the list yesterday and saw that 2003 tax forms are required by Feb 1st. I had to mail them today.

no, i called them and the guy told me that you don't need it if you have the 2004 coming soon.
