I just had a quick question in regards to Tax Forms required by Profile schools for verification purposes.

Barnard needs the forms by, well, yesterday, for the 2008 year. I called them up and they gave me leeway and said that I can come in and hand in the forms personally tomorrow.

They ask for: 2008 Federal Tax Returns (all pages and schedules).

Does this mean the worksheets too? The total pages on my dad's taxes (schedules, worksheets and all) is 27 pages. That seems a little excessive...especially if 8 of my schools require these forms.

Any validation in regards to this issue please?

I copied every page of every return (state, federal, personal, business, 2008, 2008). I just thought it was better for them to throw away anything they didn’t need…as opposed to getting a last minute e-mail that they don’t have everything (worse, no e-mail just tossing the aid application because it wasn’t sufficient). FWIW…my taxes are long long long too. But, how much harder is it to hand carry 27 pages than 10?

R124687, never give them more than they ask for. There are a couple reasons for this, and the extra pages is the lesser issue. I mean, I’m sure you’ll be fine for now, but in the future… just send what they ask for.

I haven’t actually mailed them yet, just copied 2008 while I await 2009. I can pull out any “worksheets” (assuming there are any). I don’t even LOOK at my taxes. I just sign them, shed a tear, and write the check. I hadn’t actually received my instructions yet…so I didn’t even KNOW it said no worksheets. Why? (Just because, I’m always the opposite…send it all, disclose all, total honesty in all cases).
