tax question - can I writeoff son's tuition

I know there are free versions of TurboTax, but before I run it, I need to get all my ducks in a row, so I set up my notes on paper first. I was just surprised that it seemed that we will get every cent we paid for the kid’s tuition/fees/books/materials back. I’d assumed that there was some formula that cut it down by a certain percentage.

Still waiting on my W-2, Happykid’s 1099 for a gig that was paid that way instead of being pay-rolled through the theater where she works, and whatever it is that her college will put the summer internship money on (another 1099???). I hate the extra paperwork that is generated by the whole self-employment thing, and I was so glad when I didn’t have that kind of income anymore. Who knew that Happykid would have to file the C and SE forms the first year she made enough to file taxes! She’s promised to thank me if she ever wins a Tony.
