Hi, first time poster. So long story short, since the tax retrieval thingy for FAFSA is down, I had to request a transcript of my taxes to complete my FAFSA. The problem is that they require the income tax amount, and the transcript doesn’t make it clear which number is the income tax amount. I’ve been trying to look online for the answer for the last hour but I haven’t been able to find anything helpful. I filed using a 1040A, by the way. Does anyone have any idea where the amount would be, or what it would be called?
Read the above thread, and the link in the first post there. Then contact your college.

https://fafsa.ed.gov/fotw1718/help/faahelp21.htm student
Is it the income tax amount for parent or student?
It’s for the student. The problem is that a transcript doesn’t mention what line is which, it just says stuff like “refund issued” or “Taxable income.” I’ll try asking at the college tomorrow, since I have finals starting tomorrow.
You should have the actual 2015 tax return there, right?
Use the instructions above for what lines to use depending on tax form.
The transcript is only an official document for the college for income verification.
