Taylor University

Any alums out there?? Have heard good things about Taylor but all second hand.
Because it's so small and in rural IN I am concerned about stuff to do...
Job placement? Internships? Any comments appreciated.

The daughter of the librarian at school went there and graduated a couple of years ago. She loved it. Since then she’s been teaching at a school in Honduras, but she’s coming back to the states after this year. I might be able to ask to see if she has something else lined up (the “might” is only because I need to do two things here - see her AND remember to ask with just a few school days left).

Thanks Creekland…and ask about overall TU experience?

I know her overall experience was good. She was always raving about how her daughter found “the perfect school” and loved it there (told me about it when my oldest was looking for Christian schools). BUT, we come from a rural area, so going to a rural school wouldn’t be much of a change. It could be a big difference if you are used to city living. She did say they occasionally went into Chicago, but I think most activities were on campus.

Thanks, she is considering Taylor , Liberty, and some other publics that have Christian groups on campus. Tough decisions. Lots of homework to do this summer!

I was able to talk with the librarian today… her daughter is planning on spending one more year in Honduras (teaching at an International School there). Rather than relating a ton of things, she said it was ok to pass along her daughter’s e-mail address, but, of course, I’ll do that in a private message to you… so look for one very soon.

Taylor will have far fewer rules than Liberty…

I graduated from Taylor in 93, so I won’t be too much help for anything current. LOVED it though. I would encourage my kids to go there, but it’s a bit further than they seem to want to go.
