I find this response outrageous. The supreme court (in this case) made a great ruling stating that students should NOT be judged at ALL by their race.

I am personally strongly opposed to all affirmative action because it prevents the best people from getting what they deserve. Colleges shouldn't say, "Well, he's black, so instead of letting this white applicant in, who is slightly more qualified and who we believe will do better, we'll let the black kid in to show diversity." Instead, colleges should say "Well, this (white) applicant has a slightly better gpa/sat/rank/essay/recs so let's let him in instead of that (black) applicant who has a lesser gpa/sat/rank/essay/recs." Holistic admissions should NOT include factoring in race at all.

In this ruling, the supreme court effectively banned affirmative action programs run by K-12 schools. The government has no business intruding on race relations. The government should not be doing anything to alter the population racially or anything of the sort. All races should be treated equally.

What do you guys think? Do you oppose affirmative action? Do you think it's appropriate for the government to be doing?
