I was just admitted to the TCNJ School of Business and Rutgers Business School New Brunswick. Which is better for post-grad opportunities and internships, especially since I aspire to work in NYC after college?
TCNJ is ranked top #34 top undergrad Business schools in the entire country! Also top #20 accounting in the country!
Son just graduated in 3 1/2 years with over 3.8 gpa . He had many opportunities for internships in finance. Including top banks and consulting firms in NYC. These were the same exact internships many ivy students were in. His summer internship lead to an offer at a top#4 consulting firm nyc. Couldn’t be happier with TCNJ B school. Also many top performing students have gone on to top Grad programs. Much higher regarded and more competitive than Rutgers from everything I have ever seen and heard. For proactive , high performing students the opportunities and the one on one attention at TCNJ is tremendous. Good luck
@stones3 Thank you!
@stones3 - where are your rankings from?
The great rankings come from Poets and Quants - the foremost authority for information on business schools.
My nephew attended TCNJ business - and I really dont think there’s a better business school in NJ…ranking are very high - graduation rates are exceptional and most importantly…students are getting jobs quickly. BTW - TCNJ is starting a MBA in fall of 2019…
@honestlee thank you for the feedback!
Interesting that TCNJ would be starting an MBA program as some schools are closing their full time 2 year MBA programs. Also, applications are down at even the top MBA 2 year full time programs.
rankings are readily available on the TCNJ website with links. Applications at TCNJ hit new all time highs last year and have been increasing annually for some time now.
I don’t know much about TCNJ (even though we live about 20 mins away) but I do know a good friend’s son graduated from there with a finance degree last year and is doing very well for himself. Got a great job at Prudential. He absolutely loved the school and his time there.
I was reviewing job placement stats from undergraduate business schools earlier today. For the class that graduated in 2016, TCNJ & Rutgers-NB were almost tied for percentage of graduates employed within 3 months of graduation. TCNJ = 80%. Rutgers–NB = 82%. (Rutgers-Newark finished next to last among the 50 undergraduate business schools surveyed / reporting at just 38% employed at 3 months after graduation. Shockingly, ASU-Carey School of Business was last among the 50 undergraduate business programs at just under 35%.)
@allieandjoe thank you! I am thinking of attending TCNJ this fall!
@Publisher great, thank you!
ASU stats, why shocking? doesn’t seem shocking at all. Also quality of positions for undergrad TCNJ I would confidently say higher.
