I posted this somewhere else as well but i am doing it again because i haven't gotten much feedback and i desperately need some. Ok. So i got an e-mail a while back stating that my app. was under a 2nd review and that they would have to look at it again. That was end of Feb. Yesterday I got this e-mail::

Dear Applicant,

We would like to thank you for your recent application to The College
of New Jersey. Your academic credentials are very impressive, and we
believe that you would be a welcomed addition to our incoming Class of
2011.

Unfortunately, the academic major in which you have expressed interest
has been inundated with highly qualified applicants. The Biology
department is experiencing a tremendous surge in popularity this year, with
the strongest applicant pool of any of our programs. While we would
like to admit every qualified candidate who desires Biology as their
major, TCNJ cannot adequately accommodate such a large number of students
in this department. In fact, it would be a disservice to our students
to admit everyone into Biology, as it would take away from some of the
things that make TCNJ so popular: small classes; a high degree of
faculty-student interaction; and a complete absence of teaching assistants.

Therefore, we would like to offer you an opportunity to select a
different academic program. If you are still interested in The College of
New Jersey and wish to select a new major, please e-mail ...........as soon as possible, but no later than Friday,
March 23rd.
We recognize that many of are considering careers in medicine. Please
be assured that The College of New Jersey enjoys an 86% placement rate
to medical school, regardless of the student?s academic major. As
with law school, medical programs are accepting more and more candidates
from programs outside of the traditional sciences. Medical school will
still be a feasible option for you outside of the Biology department.

We feel it is only fair that someone of your high academic standing be
made aware of the present situation with our Biology applicants. Thank
you for your attention to this matter. Best wishes for the remainder
of your senior year.............................................. .................................................. .................................................. ........................................

It's me again. What does that mean. I called admissions and the lady told me i wasn't in but the e-mail says otherwise. i.e "welcomed addition to.." The lady said that when i picked my other major they would look at my app. again and then tell me. I made sure to ask her when and she said no later than APRIL 1st. That's good and all but if i send it in now i only have 8 days. If i send it in on the deadline date i have even less. I really don't think that they could re-evaluate me in 8 days when it had taken them about 4 months before. Are they letting me down gently or something? Did anyone else get this?? Should i be worried?? I sent them an e-mail as soon as i got it stating that i will change my major to Psychology hoping that most of the other Bio App. will go for the other science programs, drop-out all together from the school, and/or go for the engineering/math program. But now i am worried i am undermining my chances by picking psych. Although i received an e-mail shortly after receiving the one posted above stating that both Chem and the Open Option Science majors are closed as well. And then Today in the morning i received an e-mail personally addressed to me with my forwarded letter stating THANKS.
