TCNJ for Engineering

My son has been accepted to TCNJ for Enginering and I was looking to get some opinions on TCNJ on the whole and also in respect to its Engineering Program. He hopes to study Mechanical Engineering and we are still waiting on SUNY Stony Brook and TCNJ seems like an affordable alternative outside of NY (OK about 12k more expensive, but with smaller classes and D3 sports)

Anyone have experiences with TCNJ and its Engineering program?

thanks

Did you look at Rowan in Glassboro for engineering? Another affordable option…

Looks like they have a number of accredited engineering programs. [Accredited Programs details](http://main.abet.org/aps/AccreditedProgramsDetails.aspx?OrganizationID=342)

At an ABET accredited program they will cover all the same material other programs do. I suggest your son visit the school and talk to some current students to get their opinion on things like what they think of the class size, helpfulness of the faculty, advising system, and the more general questions of whether the college is a fit for him. “Fit” is a topic covered in most college admission books. With a nationwide attrition rate of something like 1/3 in engineering, he should look for a college that offers an environment that gives him the best chance based on what matters to him in a college.

TCNJ has one of the few engineering program that most engineering students like. Most importantly find jobs quick, look into TCNJ’s own career website, Lionslink: it is filled with engineering jobs.

I have a similar question.
My daughter was accepted to biomed engineering at TCNJ, UPTT, SUNY Binghamton. The price is 10K more for UPIT than others.
She also was accepted to Union College with pay tag 58k.
The price matters to us, but we would take in consideration when we choose the school the factor of finding the first job and the potential salary.
From which of these schools the bachelor in science/BME is enough to start working in this filed without going right away to graduate school?
We are waiting to hear from Laffaette.
