Tcnj/umdnj

@iceberg

Me too. I’m waiting it out

@jj : lmao dude we did the same exact thing. I got rejected from Siena out of nowhere, they had the lowest requirements i was sure i’d get in --. PLME is definitely gonna be a no now too. and I applied to Drexel just for the hell of it. -- I emailed NJMS asking them to tell me why i didnt even get a second interview at the medschool even after i had everything they asked for. They haven’t answered yet though.

iceberg and WAN9STA: its so weird that you guys had your interviews for TCNJ just last week, I got my rejection letter from NJMS in late January already. My TCNJ one was in november lol im surprised theyre still taking interviews.

Honestly, they’re just going to give you an answer you probably already heard: Due to the number and strenght of applications this year, it was most competitive blah blah blah…

dont give up iceberg/wan9sta, last years thread had people interview mid march too, im sure you’ll get it.Did anyone else notice that usually kids who applied from the tcnj + other programs get the njms one? I could be wrong, but i have yet to see anyone who applied to say, JUST njit or rutgers, get one.

I got my letter for an interview with NJMS today. It was dated March 1st. So there’s still hope for those waiting out there

WAN9STA : what programs did you apply to through njms?

@WANG

When did u have ur first interview?

I applied through TCNJ, I believe I had my interview on February 5th or February 12th. Somewhere around there.

^ Hi WAN9. Are you from NJ? Congrats on the interview, and good luck!

Yes I am from NJ

^ wansta, do you mind posting your stats plz! :)

As for official stuff, I had 770 CR, 800 M, 790 W (11 Essay). 800 on Math II, Bio M, and Chem. 790 on USH. 770 on Bio E. 4.51 W GPA which is like top 5%. I never did research or anything–just hospital volunteering and I’m an EMT. I also did some shadowing while volunteering, went to a medical summer program, and am a lifeguard. Hope this helps prospective candidates.

^hey, i have a question…can you tell me how you prepared for the sats? I mean like I am really bad at CR. And I NEED major help! I am like in the low 600s…I am only a sophomore by the way…math i can be able to get a 800 and writing, I can do pretty good like in the 700s. But, I need to bump up CR to high 600s by the end of the year. Can you help me give some tips?

You’re only a sophomore so you still have plenty of time to improve. Even though I did well my second time, my first time I did subpar for this program. When I first took the SAT in March of Junior Year, I got 660 CR, 800 M, 710 W (10 Essay). I felt really bad about it, but I just decided to prepare over the summer for the Oct SAT. I finished the blue book practice tests (10 of them) and did 2 more out of the official study guides collegeboard releases each year. I read silverturtle’s SAT guide (it’s in the SAT prep forum), Direct Hits Vol 1&2, and the Rocket Revolution. And it turned out great since I improved 190 points on the Oct SAT.

Just got a letter from NJMS dated March 8 requesting an interview for TCNJ program. So happy! :)

For anyone who has already interviewed: Can you explain how the day was like? (format, events, etc)?

^manu, stats please? :)

Does anyone know how long an interview day lasts (including tour)? Is it just one interview or two?

The tour and interview for me took about 2-3 hours, but it depends on how long you make your interview and your tour guide.
During the day of your interview, you are supposed to go on a tour first with medical students and you are able to see classrooms, labs, and lounges. Then, you wait a couple of minutes for your interview. If you are with other people, each person usually has a different interviewer. Then, you are done.

^Markymark, did you get the NJMS interview?

hey guys,
can anyone whose had the njms interview let me know what types of questions they ask? did you get any bioethics ones (like at AMC) or was it just the general why medicine stuff

also, do they ask you about tcnj specifically or do they just focus on njms
im asking because im OOS and havent had a chance to visit tcnj yet and im hoping they wont be grilling me about that
