^ do you really need to do AP us history 1…because im taking honors us history 1, and next year i plan on taking AP US History 2 because i will have a strong basic foundation. AP US history 1 is extremely difficult in my school, and not many students do too well. The most some people are taking are like 2 APs, with AP govt and politics which is half year, but honestly, most of them are like B to A- students, and some of them should not have been recommended at all. They are just doing it to look good on transcripts, but usually I heard they ending up getting like Cs to Bs in those classes. AP Computer Science A is offered in my school and I heard it really looks good for med programs, considering it to be a math/science related subject. Not many high schools offer the program. So am I in a good shape so far? i want to have a strong GPA, so yah…that is my worry. :(

^pharmagal, please give me more tips on how to be really competitive for these programs because its so strange, some students who have like 4.7 gpas do not make it, whereas one student who has a 4.46 makes it in. plz help me!

Desigirl,

In terms of APs, you are doing fine. As long as you have medical ECs to match your top GPA, you will do fine.

You had previously mentioned getting the EMT license. That really helps.
Doctor shadowing, Hospital volunteering hours, and strong Recs will go a long way.

You seem to be doing everything right. When you apply, do apply to 5-6 such programs.
When you get around interviews, PM me. I will advise you regarding the interview.

^thank you pharmagal. i will keep in touch with u through this forum. hopefully, i do get into these programs! just two more years to go!

how many years of language do these programs require?

please post stats if ur applying this year

do i NEED to take AP courses in sophomore year?

…You’re Physco.

On another note, Does anyone know the official SAT cuttoff for the TCNJ/UMDNJ program

I’m applying this year and the site says 1450,
What are minimum admissions requirements?
[Combined BS/MS 7-Year Program FAQ.Biology.TCNJ](<a href=“The College of New Jersey | Department of Biology”>The College of New Jersey | Department of Biology)

However, it says somewhere else on the site, under “seven-year medical program” that it’s 1400
[Undergraduate Bulletin :: The College of New Jersey](Undergraduate Bulletin :: The College of New Jersey)

Not sure :/, i have 1440 one sitting and i already applied so yeahh

^ lol. r u referring to me as You’re physco…??

YES, but can anyone answer my question?

^ It’s def 1450. I applied to the 7 year TCNJ/UMDNJ program and I made the first interview. I have it Nov. 18. I’m extremely nervous. Does anybody know what type of questions the first interview has? It says it is a personal interview in the e-mail.

hey guys just wondering…do you like srsly need a 4.0 unweighted to get into these top programs? like i am worrying a little…please do respond…thanks.

ARE you Sure??? so i have no chance, my SAT is 1440 one sitting…and i haven’t gotten word back yet…

Since my app has been complete for a while but i haven’t recieved a call, and you have, should i just believe im rejected??

Don’t lose hope. You still might have a chance.

^ how many AP classes did u guys take?

geez calm down. I took 6 ap’s altogether. Lang & Comp., Chem, USH, Bio, Calc BC, and Physics C E/M.

These are core usually, and so the hardest ap’s.
Hope i helped.

Now I know i might have a chance but that 10 pt difference is killing me, since 1450 is cutoff

A. The minimum admission requirements are as follows:

1) An SAT score of at least 1450 from the critical reading and math sections only, from one test date. No exceptions will be made. Scores on ACT exams will NOT be accepted in place of SAT scores, per an established rule by NJMS. Average SAT scores of those accepted are very near to 1500.

Yea, it HAS to be at least a 1450 cr/math combined score to even be considered for the program. So jjtheairplane, I would not keep on hoping just to be rejected because it is stated there on their website as a minimum requirement. Sorry, I’d suggest that you try other programs.

ModelT

When did you apply and after how many days did you get an interview call?

I called them and they said that if you completed your app already, you’ll get an interview by thanskgiving if your selected…thats not too far away, and the person said my app was already complete…im scared.lol this sucks
