TCNJ versus Rutgers

JRZMom- I enjoyed your post.
I also liked that our son was in a microcosm of the larger world while at Rutgers.

The size thing of Rutgers sometimes solves itself for a student. Our son found his place in the school within the larger University. He found friendships and connections to his professors that are now ongoing.
I’m sure that his undergrad from Rutgers was a plus when applying for grad schools accross the country.

Mamabear1234, My son is looking on the same path as yours Computer Science / Game Design…any others you are looking at? I’m not seeing a program like that at any NJ State schools. Searching books and websites like crazy…the top 10 Princeton on this topic are super $$$$. Thanks!

Does any one have an idea how is TCNJ’s Computer Science program is ranked or rated or in general how it is ?

^ A parent in the CS field I know thought it was a decent, up-and-coming program. However, the one CS graduate we know was not able to find a job right out of TCNJ and had to go on to grad school. He was not happy with the career office. The CS graduates we know from Rutgers, on the other hand, did get jobs. So I think the career placement issue is one to consider.

TCNJ offered my son the same merit money Rutgers did, but that was a while ago.
