Hello! I am currently debating attending two schools I have been accepted to, TCNJ and Ramapo, both very good schools but with differing fin aid packages.
TCNJ has a better rep and resources, it’s more well-known which will likely make it easier to get a job after college. I am getting 12k in scholarship $$ which will bring my tuition to 22k a year.
Ramapo is a great school as well, and I do like it a lot, but I don’t want to be shooting myself in the foot in terms of the future. However, they have given me a full ride.
I like both schools in terms of location, security, academics, etc. but do lean more towards TCNJ as it does have more recognition. However, I really like the fact that Ramapo will let me leave college without debt.
I am an undecided major, interested in social sciences n humanities, english, journalism. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
i would lean toward tcnj as well but ramapo is pretty well known for their humanities. ultimately, it comes down to what you and your parents agree on paying. if you don’t want any debt then I would go with ramapo but it truly comes down to preference.
Have you asked your parents if they can afford $22K/year? And what about Room and Board at each school?
I have also applied to Ramapo and TCNJ… I have heard back from Ramapo and still waiting for TCNJ. I was sick and not sure how I even missed the deadline of December 15th to submit your application if you wanted to be considered for merit scholarships…So I got accepted but no offers from Ramapo. So that cancels them out… especially since other schools have offered me $80K to $125K… I am still gonna wait for TCNJ and see what happens.
