Also maybe providence college but it doesn’t have football so I’m not super interested in ED2 there.
If you’re not a STEM major, a C in honors physics wouldn’t be a killer. If TCU is your top choice, go for it. They see enough in your app to defer you.
Thank u sm!!
Is submitting mid-year grades and a letter of continued interest a easy process. Asking for a friend.
How many are waiting for a Regular Decision?
We are. Our son applied before RD deadline.
Our son is waiting regular decision.
RD today 3/11? …or next Friday 3/18?
Regular decisions will be released on Wednesday, March 16th at 5 PM.
How do you know this?
VERY reliable sources in the TCU Admissions Office.
So excited! Can’t wait! I’m just now noticing your profile name!
@FrogFan001 Any idea if this should also include deferred EA’s? Son did not have an answer today. Congratulations to everyone who received good news.
My child applied early action and was deferred. She sent a letter of continued interest to her admissions counselor and an updated resume and transcript. On Monday, January 31, 2022 she and her dad spent the entire day at TCU attending the Monday at TCU admissions event. She spent time with her admissions counselor at that event (there was an area where the counselors were stationed in case kids wanted to talk to an admissions counselor) and at that time she in person confirmed her continued interest. She and her dad were told at that event that attendance was important, particularly for those who had been deferred. Today (3/16) TCU updated her portal to accepted status with pre-major: undecided. I am sharing in case this helps others who have been deferred (this year or in future years).
Thank you! Showing continued interest is definitely important. Congratulations to your daughter!
Good luck with your continued wait. This is my 3rd child to go through the college admissions process and the last month of waiting without a doubt seems to pass the most slowly. I have always told my kids: “the process gets you where you need to be, so trust the process”. At moments, my kids were not at all sure and they shared many doubts. Now with hindsight, the older two can clearly see they are where they need to be. College is tough. Very quickly, no matter where you are, surviving and thriving becomes the focus and the new college transforms itself into their 2nd home – part of who they are and forever will be.
Wonderful message.
Thank you momtexas! That is a great message indeed. Turned out my son had withdrawn his application, or rather did not complete the defer acceptance form. He is still waiting for a couple of schools, but has one he decided to attend if the final two don’t work out. He withdrew from his other schools too. It will all turn out the way it should, so we will patiently wait these last few weeks, but know he has a great option.
Great post momtexas - very true. I am on Child 3 through the process, and I agree completely.
