Son is looking at both schools for Business. Any thoughts on pros and cons of these two schools?
I am looking at these schools as well! I honestly do not know much. What I have heard from my friends is that SMU is better academically.
For business I would go with SMU. It’s business school has a wonderful reputation. TCU is also a very good school but the atmosphere at SMU is different.

@CollegeMom70 yes, smu and tcu are very different. SMU is way more urban, SMU is also considered by most at TCU as extremely pretentious. I know some kids who went to St.Marks or UA (most prestegious preps in our area) and they didn’t go to SMU due to its student body.
@jinkies024 Yes and no. SMU is about the same if you go through both schools with a fine comb… they are basically the same, just the student body differs greatly. But once you get out of the top 20 schools, it doesn’t matter. especially after the top 40-100 which both tcu and smu are at.
