TCU vs SMU?

Hi, I’ll be attending either TCU or SMU in the fall. I’m planning on being pre-med or as SMU calls it pre-health. I’ve looked at both extensively and I need help deciding. I love the professors at SMU and I grew up going to Dallas so that’s a plus. I visited TCU and found everyone to be super nice and pretty inclusive, but I know TCU doesn’t offer research opportunities like SMU does. I would like some insight on anyone’s opinion? I’m a tad worried about SMU because I don’t plan on joining a sorority but I usually don’t have trouble making my own friends. Thank y’all!

Hey @helpmoi I know this reply is a bit late, but here is my (slightly biased) opinion. As you said, TCU is very inclusive, and I have lots of friends there without joining greek life (and I’m even introverted). If you are in pre-med I believe there are hands-on opportunities at hospitals and clinics in the DFW area. I also think TCU does offer great research opportunities, if you mean working in labs and doing your own projects as an undergrad. Professors are always happy to help you find paths for your success.

Again, you might have already decided, but if you want any more info I’d be more than happy to share.
