Teach For America 2013 Corps

@TFAOCT2013

Well I kinda hope my interviewers weren’t fatigued. I was the last one in my group to go and she had to cut a lot of my answers short because they were over time. My interview started at 4:$0 and ended at 5:15ish

@advocateforlife I’m not from the area but I absolutely LOVE California! Let’s make sure we keep in contact if we get in…we’ll be at the same institute!!

@pinkpanther09Thanks for the info on San Diego!

I really don’t know what to think about the TF status change. I interviewed on the 15th…applied for funding Oct 23rd…and it was changed to complete by Oct 24th. It seems awfully quick so that makes me think it may not have as much to do with it as I assumed…

3 more days!! At this point, I just want to know either way.

I interviewed on Tuesday the 16th and submitted my TF app on Wednesday the 17th. My TF app still reads “under review”. I emailed grantsandloans@teachforamerica.org to inquire about this and the woman who wrote me back said that the status will not change from ‘under review’ until acceptance day (if I am indeed accepted). But this is clearly not the case as some individuals apps have already read out as ‘completed’. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Does this mean that if my status still reads ‘under review’ that I was not accepted? Or does it mean that I still might be? Help?

@Tkass87 how many other interviewers were in your group? I signed up to go third in my group because I was afraid to be ther very last. I think they probably rushed to ask you the specifics of what they needed to know to assess you and no extras. When I interviewed we got off topic a few times and discussed my personal life a little which I do not believed would have happened otherwise. I noticed they ended rather quickly with the girl that was in front of me. Your interview time seemed pretty good considering they sped through lol

My TF just updated to complete today. I interviewed 10/19 and submitted my TF 10/23. Not gonna read much into it.

Ah - we have our first 10/19 interview TF status update. Commence panic.

Hahahaha crazygood31, panic has commenced. Eeeeeeeek!

JordanRose1, I emailed the grantsandloans email address as well about the Transitional Funding, just to get some information as well. Unfortunately, I got an email that said that the facilities are closed due to Hurricane Sandy.

Lol dont worry guys, honestly dont think it means much. Keep checking, I’m sure yours will update to complete soon!

I had my final interview on 10/15 and my transitional funding application was submitted prior to my interview. My status hasn’t updated yet.

I interviewed in Philadelphia and my #1 region preference was Philadelphia. Has anyone who interviewed in Philadelphia or who put Philadelphia as their #1 seen a change in status yet?

@TFAOCT2013 there were 11 women in my group. I volunteered to go last because I was the only one that didn’t have a class or a long drive or any other conflicts.

@iraja and crazygood31

hahaha I was thinking the same thing before you guys posted on it.

When I emailed the grants/loans ppl, I got the same generic, acceptance date message.

WHOOP WAIT WAIT WAIT, I went to Incomplete! Which is not complete but it means someone looked at it!

I have to resubmit my Pell grant documentation

oh gosh! still nothing here!!!

Oh man, Tkass87, that’s good news! At least something is happening.

I’m still stressing like a little loser over here. Sigh.

I resubmitted my documents and have now gone to:

Transitional Funding Application Status: Under Review

We have received your supporting documents but have not yet reviewed your application or documents. Please check back to this page for further updates. You can expect an update on notification day if you submitted your documents by the required deadline, or within ten business days if you submitted your documents after that date.

Sigh, I’ve resigned myself to a rejection. How depressing.

@Tkass87 I interviewed the 19th and the exact same thing happened to me. My status changed to incomplete, then I re-uploaded the document they needed, now I’m under review again.

@iraja - don’t do that!

What documents did you have to upload? All I needed was first four pages of parent’s tax return. So maybe for people who need more documents they look at them earlier? Or those with more demonstrated need based on the pre-application and then go through those first?

I don’t know! Last year someone’s status changed to complete the day before their acceptance!

@SChopeful13 Yeah, they said that my name wasn’t visible on my Pell Grant document. And all of my other documents now say Yes except the Pell Grant. They made adjustments to my loan amounts too.

@Iraja Don’t give up hope! They may be just going through and processing people in order. Then again, prepare for the worst but hope for the best. That’s how I’m looking at it.
