@kv4life you’re correct, no changes yet. I’m just waiting for my documents to at least be verified
so much anxiety over this lol

@Idetr14 OMG me too lol this is nerve-wrecking -.- 8 more days haha

A couple of things to think about that might help y’all not fell so nervous. First, I’m not sure how many people are reviewing TF documents. Imagine there are 3 people for 500 apps. They would split those amongst themselves, and it’s entirely possible that each person works a bit differently or at a different pace. The other thing to consider is that the docs don’t go to TF until you are placed in your region. From my understanding, that is a very complicated process and there are a lot of factors to consider, something like 30 different data points plus the human review. There are a lot of moving parts that would determine when your TF actually gets to review and/or completion. Not that I don’t understand. I’m stalking these forums and obsessively checking my TFA status page
Just hoping the best for everyone!

Thanks @KaiBee !! You are certainly right, but like you said… still easier to obsess.

@mossmoss no i did not choose nashville as a region and it was sent to me before the final interview so it probably was sent to a lot of people

Okay, so what’s the final consensus on what the TF status means? I’m like really concerned about it because 2/3 of my documents were verified even though I just turned my documents in on Feb 28, and I don’t know how to take that (good or bad sign). It’s now “under review.” (Not surprising since I uploaded my last document today at 4 p.m.)

@RosesForHer I think you’re in good shape! If you turned it in on the 28th, and they are already verified thats good. It is normal for it to go from complete, back to under review when you submit new documents, pretty soon it will be complete. Are you doing early notification by any chance? I’m asking because as I’ve said before I turned mine in on the 23rd and still no verification…

Then again what someone said early sounds right too, you need to be placed first so they know how much to give you. Some people might take longer because their placement might be a little bit more complicated. Thats why some see a change to complete the same day as notification day. I just wonder the timetable for someone to get their documents verified :p

Ahh! Im not logging back into this forum until notification day at 6 pm lol everyone’s insight is just making me stress even more lol

Okay so now my documents are verified (they all say yes under the tab documents verified) but my status still says under review…what does that meaaaaan lol :((

@tfaplease when did you submit your TF?

Did anyone else watch the live TFA thing last night? They discussed two new pilot programs that seem really cool. One was a full year of training for junior applicants before they enter the corp, and the other was extra support for teachers who stay on past their 2-year commitment.

@ldetr14 i submitted them feb 20

@tfaplease awesome! from reading, so far youre the latest date to have stuff verified. which makes me feel good since I submitted the 23rd…

Although someone else said they submitted their TF the 28th, and they already have verified documents, but thats the only exception

NEW UPDATE! Lol I finally have “Yes” on all my documents, for what thats worth…

@mossmoss I watched it last night too. The program about giving juniors a full year to prepare sounds really interesting. I know one of the biggest criticisms of TFA is the 5 week training compared to the years of practice and theory traditional ed programs usually have. My biggest question about it is how are they going to enforce it? Are they going to mandate that all of the accepted juniors participate? What happens if they’re not sure they want to accept their offers yet? I can’t wait to hear more about that program though…

But I’m really confused by the extra support for new teachers after their two years. It seems like it’s intended to address the attrition rate of new teachers, but I doubt added instructional support will help address that issue. And I’m a little unclear about what type of ‘support’ is going to be offered. Teachers decide to stop teaching for many reasons, but the most prevalent one is the lack of adequate compensation for the amount of work they put in. I hear this especially in charter schools. Plus, TFA teachers come into the program with degrees in other areas, so other job opportunities with better pay are going to pull them away from teaching. Traditional education teachers only have a degree in education, so they are more likely to stay. So unless TFA decides to pay third year teachers more money, I don’t see how their ‘support’ is going to translate into more corps members staying after their commitment. It’s not the program’s fault. It just says something about how our society treats its most important profession.

I have “YES” on mine as well!! Woohoo! Submitted my docs Feb 22…but it still says under review “we havent looked at your documents or application yet” …kind of confusing…

@teachprayteach it’s supposed to stay “under review” until it finally switches to “complete” which can happen between now and notification day. When it switches to that like you probably already know, it means you’re most likely accepted. So everyone please share when your app goes to “complete” :)

I submitted my TF stuff on the 26th, so I hope I will see some status change soon…getting worried.
