Teach For America 2014 Corps

@arkansas2014 Mine has also turned light grey. No idea what that could mean.

@rosesforher I had the exact same experience everyone except two people already had either their credential, their masters degree or had already been teaching in City Youth what made me feel a little more comfortable was that someone from my school was in the same group as me and we were both lowly graduating seniors in college lol

@TFAKHILL i got an email stating that if all your docs are verified and have no notes asking for more information you should got awarded on notification day (granted you are accepted) and it wont change to complete until that day!

@Dreamer5 Awesome; thanks for sharing that info!

Is anyone getting early notification today? Let us know how it goes!

@Dreamer5 just to clarify, so in some cases, they won’t need more than the three documents that are already asked?

Right if you’ve never been asked to verify the documents, whenever they get your application it should change to YES if not they will ask for other documents

I decided to join the thread! But I applied for an early decision and just found out that I was accepted! Good luck to the rest of you though!

I just got this email…

so my TF application is incomplete…but they say I have til April 10th to resubmit documents. Is that a good sign since admission is March 13th?

Dear XX,

We have reviewed your transitional grants and loans application and supporting documents but will need more information before we are able to give you an award offer. Please see the notes below for the specific documents or information we need to complete your application.

Please send: Please send: A copy of the first four (4) pages of your most recent tax return (if the tax return is under four pages, please send all pages of the tax return) OR, if applicable, a copy of this year’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Student Aid Report (SAR) for 2013/2014 school year.

Your name was not visible on your federal loan document. Please send in a document that verifies this amount and also clearly shows your name and the type of account we are looking at.

Because the Parent PLUS loan is not in your name, we consider this to be a private educational loan between you and your parent. Please provide a promissory note signed by both you and your parent stating both the amount and terms of this loan (repayment period, interest, etc). This can be something informal that you create as long as it states these terms and is signed by both you and your parent.

Please send documentation verifying that you received Pell grants during college. We can accept a screenshot from your financial aid review on the national student loan database website (http://www.nslds.ed.gov/nslds_SA/</a>). That will list the Pell grant(s) you received. We can also accept copies of your financial aid award letter(s) or screenshots from your online account summary with your college logo that indicate you received Pell grants.

To complete your application, please login to your transitional funding status page on the Applicant Center. From this page you can view the supporting documents that we’ve received and upload additional documents. Please make sure to submit your required supporting document(s) by April 10, 2014 in order for us to be able to offer you an award package.

If you have any questions please visit our Transitional Funding FAQ page on the Applicant Center or feel free to reach out to us at grantsandloans@teachforamerica.org.

@msammy Congratulations!!! So happy for you! Where did you get placed?

Congrats @msammy! Do you know your placement yet?

Congrats @msammy!

@Afradett91 I got the same email, so I hope so! Someone on here told me it was a good sign, based on what they read from prior deadlines. Trying not to get too excited yet. Guess, we’ll know soon!

Thanks you guys! I haven’t found out what I’ll be teaching. But I’ll be in Dallas/Ft-Worth area! In the email they sent me, they told me that I would find out about what I’ll be teaching on March 13th with the rest of you guys!

@msammy Was DFW one of your top picks?

@FunnyGirl DFW was my first pick and only pick for highly preferred. Lol. My recruiter basically told me that if I got in, I would automaticlally get DFW because I want to teach science plus they place a lot of people in that area.

@msammy Dallas/Fort Worth was my second highly preferred! Keep your fingers crossed for me :)

@cholt5 We might be placed together! And I will keep my fingers crossed for all of you guys!

@funnygirl mine is incomplete but why would they send me that til april 10th if I didn’t get in?

Well the good thing is that they are working their way through the TF applications. Congrats to those who have early decision acceptances. Let’s hope more TF statuses are updated between now and March 13. It is hard not to be anxious about an acceptance and TF assistance.

Oh and also my TF status still says under review but all my documents are verified. I’m assuming its that way because mine won’t change until the offical day of acceptance for everyon on the 13th.
