Teach For America 2014 Corps

Still no verification "/ Thanks to all those with kind words. Question, I just noticed that my loan amount is in parentheses ( ) in the documents table. Is this there as soon as you submit your app? First time I’ve noticed it. Not to be naïve, but I’m trying to remain calm and not jump to conclusions until notification day. Looking back in this thread, there was one applicant whose documents weren’t verified until the day before. So, who knows! Good luck to everyone and congrats to those who already know their status! :)

my documents are verified but i did not receive an email like everyone else uhoh =(

@tfaplease not everyone is asked for more documents, if you have a YES, you are good, and now you’re just looking for “under review” to change to “complete”, which can happen anytime between now and next thursday.

@ldetr14 thanks!

Hey everyone don’t forget to spring forward your clocks for Sunday. I am looking forward to spring we have been getting so much snow here in the Metro Detroit area.

Also my documents still haven’t been verified or reviewed. They also said they have 450 applicants that they are reviewing for TF so just a few more days to see what happens. It is interesting to see a lot of people getting info on their statuses and I haven’t heard a word. I interviewed in Detroit on Feb. 24 and submitted TF on Feb. 21 so I am wondering and anxious about this whole acceptance thing.

I also got this email:

APPLICATION DEADLINES FOR TRANSITIONAL FUNDING

For 4th deadline Teach For America applicants, the deadline to submit your transitional funding application with documents for award information on notification day is 02/28/14. You will see the application for transitional funding on the applicant center once you are invited to a final interview. If you submit your application by this date, you can expect to receive an award offer on notification day (3/13/14), should you be accepted to the corps.

You may continue to apply for transitional funding until our final deadline ET midnight Thursday, 4/10/14. However, your transitional funding application may not be processed in time for you to receive an award offer on the same day as your notification of acceptance to the corps.

For 3rd deadline Teach For America applicants, you may continue to apply for transitional funding through Friday, February 21st, ET midnight. We have extended the application period due to tech issues that have arisen. Please submit your application and any outstanding documents by the deadline to be considered for a transitional funding award.

But I also got the email just saying to make sure I turn in my documents they need before April 10th. So I am confused is that a sign that I could be getting accepted or is for everyone like the above email? HELP

I think it means that you have an extended deadline if you get accepted to turn in your docs to get TF just my guess thou

@natgeowild Yeah the interviewer and I just didn’t connect… to say the least. I’m curious what the light grey box around the entire thing means though, if anything. Has anyone else had their required action box turn to light grey? Very strange.

@Afradett91 I haven’t gotten that email, but it’s strange that they’re referencing a date that has already passed. As long as you have the proper documents uploaded, I wouldn’t read too much into that email. It looks like we’re just going to have to wait until the 13th.

Hey everyone, from reading the comments on past notification days, it seems that document verification is an earlier acceptance indicator than “complete”. For the most part all people with verified documents got in, and those that reported a rejection, never saw any sort of verification. And for those who haven’t seen that yet, not to worry, apparently they verify documents up to the night before notification day :)

Just letting you all know, I had early decision and was accepted! Very excited. But no worries about TF status everyone. Mine still says under review. It won’t change until the 13th, along with everyone else’s. I’ve been placed in Phoenix but won’t know the details until the 13th. Phoenix was 5th on my list, but I’ll take it :slight_smile: Just glad that the unknown is now known and I can get on with making plans. I’m hoping the best for all of you! I know it’s hard but stay positive!

@KaiBee Congrats on your early decision and placement!

@arkansas2014 I think the gray box on the application status page is just an indicator that all deadlines for that information has passed. The transitional funding part is still white because it is open to apply through April 10th. Just my thoughts, I have been wrong before

Has anyone had “no” on their verification list which made it incomplete. After I got that I got an emailing saying I have Til April 10th to result the documents. At least they saw my TF application. Does this hint I’m accepted?

I meant resubmit*

@happ1one Thank you :slight_smile:

@kaibee CONGRATULATIONS

@kaibee Congratulations! Phoenix is first on my highly preferred list, such a cool region to be placed in. Happy for you!

Has anyone seen the incomplete and gotten in. I think it’s an indicator for admission. They wouldn’t tell me to submit different documentation before April 10 if I didn’t get accepted?? Any thoughts!

@Afradett91 Anyone with verified documents, or in your situation incomplete and them asking you for extra documentation is a good sign. As I said earlier, verification is an even earlier acceptance notification, than the whole “complete” thing :slight_smile: I went through the thread, and majority of rejected applicants never saw a change to their submitted documents with respect to verification. Just my thoughts!
