good to hear

@idetr14 what about being incomplete though?

hey guys, i think we all just need to wait until the 13th…(I am so obsessed about it too…) from what I read on all these posts and the web nobody really knows until notification day…I think for all of us if it is meant to be it will happen…If it dosen’t happen, then of course amazing things can happen that you never even dreamed of…So for all of you out there worrying each day until you sleep and wake up to a new day, just remember, they know what kind of person works for their program and if they don’t choose you maybe they are doing you a favor…

@imwideawake…LOL. Yes this is true. Whatever is to be is meant to be…in divine order. TFA is working on their timeline and unless you are an early decision you really won’t know until Mar. 13. It’s best to not stress and not overwhelm ourselves with anxieties or things out of our control. : )

@dreamer5 @cholt5 Thanks! Maybe I’ll see you in Phoenix :)

Congrats @KaiBee!

What will you do to celebrate if you DO get accepted to Teach For America? plans?

I just want to know already! I keep getting mixed signals with the “TF status being incomplete, but them giving me til April 10th to turn documents in”

@msmatt toast over a big family dinner!

well let’s not expect any changes until Monday
doubt they will work on this during the weekend lol

Drink and then start packing. Would be psyched to move right now.

@msmatt probably start stressing over certification exams lol

I am so nervous, too. Like I said, even with my documents being verified AND with the email I received, it has not quelled my anxiety or fears. If I do not get in, I have an interview (or two, maybe) lined up, but nothing really. Everyone that is hiring wants someone that can start right now. So, it is proving difficult. I did get an early acceptance into TNTP, but I already passed the deadline, and didn’t accept the offer. However, their model is much different than TFA’s model such that you have to pay SO much money AND they don’t offer financial assistance like TFA does. I believe it was around $4,000 for just the certification fees? Plus, you had to pay for everything regarding moving, etc. So, I couldn’t afford that.

And while TNTP and TFA both require that you interview at your prospective schools, TNTP does not “place” you anywhere. It also doesn’t give you any of the benefits of TFA, such as the loan deferment, money towards your student loans, etc.

If I am not accepted, I will seriously consider an alternative certification program. If I cannot afford the alternative, I will hope that I can find a job that I can make progress on becoming a teacher, something that allows flexibility and things of that nature until I can afford to acquire my teaching certification. Otherwise, I would apply for TFA again in August.

I am a mother, a bit older (26), but I am a graduating senior. I have a lot of student loans and bills, almost $1800 a month in bills. So, I have to have a job pretty much right out of school. Again, crossing fingers!

@hallas what email did you get?

@hallas I could not help but laugh when you said you are a bit older. Sorry! I found that funny because I am way past 26 and you are still YOUNG! Don’t let anyone tell you any different.

@Afradett91 some of us haven’t even heard anything from the program, no emails or document verification. You need to appreciate you have some sort of sign instead of overanalyzing every little thing

Daylight saving tonight. One less hour to wait for the 13th!!!

@TFAKHILL370 haha so true!

Fun question to help pass time…
What are your least preferred regions and would you accept the offer if you were placed there? You couldn’t change region.

I’ll start. I put Oklahoma and I most likely would still accept the offer

@natgeowild That’s a hard question! It would be hard to say I wouldn’t accept the position since I want to be part of the program so badly! Just trying to start a family and thinking about where I want to battle weather.

I least prefer Detroit for family purposes and Oklahoma for climate. I am in Arkansas so the weather isn’t that much different from OK but still, a little goes a long way.

Good question!
