on the TF funding page is your top item for tax return gray?

no the entire page is white for me. I have no verifications though

hmmmm…

yea i don’t think i’ll get accepted

Hey everyone. I know it’s hard not to obsess over every little thing. I’m in the same boat as y’all. I’ve done the whole reading through all hundred and some pages of the thread. Obsessively checking my TF status. Replaying my final interview and second guessing it all. But everyone just take a breather. Who knows why certain areas are gray or white. Who knows why some people are verified and others are not. No amount of obsessing is going to change the decision. We have 4 days left. Let’s take this time to be positive and talk about better things. Like the unc vs duke game last night. Or how spring is hopefully around the corner. Here’s a question. How many people are going to complete a masters if there is an option if accepted?

me too…i have no verifications yet, but i still have a good feeling about it…i think the one saving grace is to just wait to the 13th

I got an email telling me that I needed to submit further documentation so they can give me an offer for the TF. It’s earlier in this thread.

Also, I know I am not old, just older than most seniors in college. Accordingly, being that I am 26, my life is a bit different than the normal 22-23 year old graduating this year.

Highly preferred is all of the regions in NC. Least preferred is everywhere else. I cannot move, so if i get somewhere outside of NC, then I would have to decline the offer. I do not have the money to break my lease, my mother is ill, and I have a daughter that I do not want to uproot. Also, my husband is in school in NC. I used a special circumstance, so hopefully that will help!

On my TF funding page I have everything verified, and all sections white…

Most highly preferred: Mass. (special circumstances), Chicago, DC, Philly, NYC. Least preferred: Atlanta, Detroit. I would have a hard time working things out if they placed me in a region where I would need a car, so fingers crossed if I get in I’m placed in one of my highly preferred regions! It’s such an incredible opportunity I would hate to have to turn it down.

Hi I’ve been looking through this thread and just decided to join. @idetr14 my TF status page is also completely verified and all white but under the status tab: “required actions”, it’s grey; is this also the same for you? Good luck everyone !!

I don’t think color has anything to do with it, but I will include the “color” of my TF status page. The “tax return” category is grey, and the other two categories are white (verifying student loans and the verifying student grants). So, one grey, two white.

Are people conspiring that this means something, too? Haha. I never noticed the colors before, so I am unsure if they have changed.

Also wanted to mention that under the actual “Status” page, the required actions section is grey, optional actions section is white and grey. I really do not think this means anything though. Is there some sort of reason people are paying attention to the colors?

lol @hallas for your TF status page, the grey “tax return”, is that verified or not? You mentioned that loans and grants are verified, so maybe grey means not complete?

Nah, everything is verified and has been since March 3rd. I received an email early on March 3rd that my application was incomplete and they needed further information in order to give me an award offer. My name wasn’t legible on one of the documents and I had to sign a statement about my independent status. Uploaded them and within a few hours everything was verified. But yeah, just the “Tax Return” row is grey, the other two are white. However, all are verified. If that helps. /shrug

Hmm then I have no idea what color might mean since I’m just like you in terms of verification, but all white. Who knows! :p

In past deadlines no one has even mentioned color, we’re the first group lol

I honestly don’t think color has anything to do with acceptance. Lol. That’s the first I’ve heard. The only thing I have read that correlates with acceptances is your documents being verified and your “Under Review” changing to “Complete” in regards to TF. If anything changes on my end, I will let you know. Otherwise, we’ll all know in 4 days!

Yea, I would say document verification is an even earlier indicator. From past deadlines, majority of people who were rejected never even saw that happen. But yea, it’ll all be over in 4 days! :D

I still remain humble and I never feel confident about getting in tfa, even though I am already a teacher in a low income community seeking to lead schools and pursuing graduate studies. Maybe I’m still not quite who they want me to be. I have learned to keep an open mind about everything.

*If I don’t get in TFA, I will continue my master’s classes (school leadership) this summer and continue to teach while finishing my last certification class for my professional certificate in FL (English 6-12).

*If I do get in tfa, I will just take 1 online (final) certification class and do summer Institute, of course.

There is still important work to do in the field of education regardless of admission to the corps. Tfa is a form access to getting to see the issues in our system, but there are a variety of ways to be on the frontline if we are “tfa rejects” lol. Stay driven and positive and it will all work out. I am mostly excited about the possibility to become better at this craft to best prepare students.

If I get in to my special circumstance choice (Jacksonville), depending on subject area, I will still have to weigh the pros/cons. If its a subject area I’m not comfortable with, not sure what I’ll do. TFA is huge commitment, more than most jobs I’d say. And it’s just one job- I’m trying to remember that.
