@afradett91 it means you got rejected

TFAtobe, are you sure that you should tell someone this early that they have been rejected?
Are you really in a place to do that? You are just another applicant.

@afradett91 I thought they give people time to re-submit paperwork for those that it is incomplete. I could be wrong. I remember seeing someone on the forum who submitted info they asked to be re-submitted.

@afradette91 lol you need to submit the docs they requested if u want to have an indicator. You can’t possibly have your documents verified if they aren’t submitted

@tfatobe it doesn’t, but thanks for the encouragement.

Just wondering if anyone had any incompletes.

Okay, on March 3rd I received an email from TFA asking for me to resubmit documents for TF, as they needed additional information to grant me an award. At that time my TF status was “Incomplete” I then resubmitted the documents and my TF status changed to “Under Review” however, all of my documents were verified with the word YES next to each. I do also have the amount of loans I stated I had from my application beside that category in parentheses.

If your documents have been verified, but your status is “Under Review,” it is likely you’re accepted.
If your documents have been verified and your status is “Complete” and stays complete up until notification day, there are one or two people that were rejected, but most were accepted.
If your documents have not been verified and there is NO change in your TF status, including after the late morning - mid-afternoon hours, it is likely you did not get in.

The logic behind this is that no nonprofit is going to review documents for people that are not accepted. The same logic applies to colleges/unis that do not award financial aid until you are accepted.

There are some glitches which sends some people’s statuses to Complete, but they typically stay there. Most that end up “Complete” before notification day (and are accepted) are those that went from “Under Review” -> “Complete” -> and then changed back to Under Review and then back to Complete on notification day.
Not one person in this entire thread has gotten in with no documents verified and no change in status after around 3pm on notification day. However, people have seen changes up until that date/around that time. If your status CHANGES to Complete, you most likely got in, as well as if your documents have been verified.

I have done a ton of research in the 2013 and 2014 Corps threads, and this is what I got out of it. However, things can always change, and of course, nothing is ever foolproof. Which is why, although I went from Incomplete -> received an email for more info -> Under Review with all documents verified, I am not holding my breath or thinking I am in. You just never know. It is helpful to have those indicators, though.

@Afradett91 I haven’t had any incompletes, just “under review” and “verifying documents”. TFA has got to find a better way to notify people of their status other than waiting on acceptance day, but I guess they have to tie it all together.

@msmatt i’m not but clearly he wants to hear something definitive from all the applicants or else he wouldn’t be asking the same question for the past 5 pages.

@hallas nice review! lol and i agree with the entire thing. i also have reviewed the 2013 and 2014 threads extensively, and a little of 2012, and that is what i came up with too.

happ1one - There’s still time for them to verify your documents and stuff. They just started Mon. Mar 3rd. Just check back tomorrow and look for a YES next to your categories.

And, yeah, Idetr14, I had to do something to make sense out of the whole TF thing, but it is pretty conclusive. The only thing that would keep me skeptical is having it change from Under Review -> Complete without ever changing back. That’s when the one or two people saw trouble. However, the rest is pretty solid. TF status is a good indicator. Though, I agree that they really should make it invisible. It makes people anxious and also causes unnecessary anxiety, because some people see NO change until notification day and are accepted. /shrug I wish they’d change it, even though I have already saw change and my documents are verified. Ya know? I just would rather not know, but curiosity got the best of me.

great job @hallas, I completely agree with what you’ve said. Also, many of the people in 3DL saw a change from under review to complete and then back but that may have been because there was so much time between interview and acceptance ( about a month).

I only say this because several of my friends did 3DL and their status was updated 2 weeks after the interview (the documents were verified before), but they still had another 2 weeks to wait–we don’t have that kind of time/it has yet to be two weeks after the interviews (so in other words, I think even if you don’t have documents verified you shouldn’t worry).

@hallas thanks for the info and encouragement. : ) It is just interesting to hear all these updates and I was getting worried some, but I guess we all are anxious except for those who received early decisions.

Yeah, I think I did count earlier and only 5 people (including me) had any changes on their TF status. There is no reason for alarm yet. They still have through the 13th at 6pm EST to get everything completed. That’s like 3.5 days. So, yeah. Definitely chill. I think starting tomorrow we’ll see some more changes rolling in, and they’ll continue through notification day.
Try to get some rest and have a good Monday everyone!

@hallas not sure if mine counts but I have N/A on my document

Congrats to everyone with early acceptance and all who have seen changes in their TF status (whatever they may be)! I did not apply for TF, so I have no updates there. @natgeowild, I would think N/A on a document is better than no change at all. I would bet you’ll be hearing from them in an email soon!

I have two questions for anyone who’d like to answer. Back to the color discussion, what are the colors of the classes you entered into the CIF section? Mine are all light grey, but they may have been that way from the beginning. ALSO, if you go to the required documents section, does the option to delete documents still show up? Just a theory, but for the people TFA has already selected, I would think that option should disappear…

@arkansas2014 I still have the delete button there…

I can delete all of my required documents under the “Required Documents” section (transcripts and employment eligibility). I’ve never heard of that being a determining factor of acceptance. My courses are all light grey in the Coursework Info section, and there is no way to edit that.

The deletion of required documents has never been brought up in either thread I’ve read (2013 and 2014). Only TF status was used as an indicator. Hope this helps.

Seriously, no more theories, people!
I think the greyed out areas are just areas that you can no longer edit since that date has passed. TF status is a good indicator because it would be inefficient and expensive for TFA to have people awarding money to people that aren’t accepted. I would assume they would allow change in required documents such as transcripts and employment eligibility, because those things change and sometimes (even after acceptance) they may require more information regarding both and allow you to provide those via the application center.

:)

Interesting point @arkansas2014 I no longer have the option to delete anything! Guess it’s a good sign, if others still have the delete button. Do you?
