Teach For America 2014 Corps

For those of you whose TF is complete, can you still see the unsubmit button?

@juliaf9…I was also thinking that the unsubmit button may appear up until you’ve been placed. IF transitional funding is connected with placement at all, that would make sense, because my TF changed today (I now have “N/A” and “YES” next to my documents where as before everything was blank), and today my “unsubmit” button also disappeared. No idea if there is a connection or not; I think we’re all grasping at straws at this point, but it’s SO hard not to read into every little thing.

@townie01…I’m not sure. I think at least one was accepted whose referebce was contacted this late in the game (the other one I saw may not have been, but I’m having trouble recalling). I’ll take another look at the old threads for the bazillionth time ahhh lol.

@mangostreet05 As far as dealing with the stress, I am attempting to think positively. No matter what, if we are passionate about transformational change, we can go on to do amazing things. I would love to be accepted come Thursday, and I know I’ll be disappointed if I’m not - it’s only natural, but at this point, I’ve reminded myself that it’s out of my control - and that if this is what I really want to do, I’ll find a way! I also really like Yogi’s Kava Stress Relief tea…I find that it really does take the edge off when I am anxious.

Hello everyone

@tfahopeful2014 My button is still there, don’t think this means anything though. I say this because the option to change recommender is still there as well, and we all know its too late for that.

@victoriapat I honestly don’t think they review everyone’s document, it would take too much time and effort. I also think the whole notion of “if you’re accepted you will see your award” Do you think they create awards for all applicants?

@townie01 On the application they say your references may or may not be contacted. I think they are used when your reccomenders submissions leave room for uncertainties, for the most part I think the reccomenders form will seal the deal for references.

My unsubmit button is now gone!

These last few days have been brutal as I’ve been off work and obsessing. Luckily I work all weekend and am busy Monday so will only be obsessing Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. When I look at it that way it’s almmmoost like it’s only 3 days away. Oy.

@juliaf9, my status is complete and as of yesterday I could still see the unsubmit button. I am also waiting on the Spanish Exam but have not received results.

Ahhh I wish we could just know now! This weekend we have homecoming and I have a friend’s birthday to distract me, and next week I will be somewhat busy with school work and internships but it’s so hard to not over analyze every detail of your application in anticipation!

@explorer17 I really might go get some stress relief tea, lol!

Is anyone else still completely blank and under review? I feel like everyone is changing to complete!

@elemteacher I think there’s only like 2 people who have changed to complete on here. I know a lot of people’s documents are changing to YES or N/A, but I wouldn’t worry - that just happened for me yesterday.

Is there a way to determine if your recommenders filled out the form? I mean of course before they determine if you go on to the next step or not? That way i won’t be annoying my recommenders if they have already filled it out!

@elemteacher–my TF Status was Under Review and blank about 30 minutes ago and now it just changed to Complete and Yes for all of my documents. Don’t worry too much, they did indicate they would be working on applications until Tuesday!

@elemteacher I’m in the same boat! Everything is still blank, and under review. My unsubmit button is gone, so that’s interesting!

I can’t tell if this thread is helping or increasing my anxiety haha

@gar6612 If you get invited to a final interview, the status screen will have a spot for each recommendation, and they each say Not Started in red if the recommender has not gone to the recommendation form at all, In Progress (or something like that) if the recommender has opened the form and begun working on it, and Complete in green once the recommender has submitted the form

My documents just changed to say “YES” beside them, but it still says under review. At least they looked at the documents?

Thank jazz, as im worried my recommenders may get busy or something and forget and this way i will be able to remind them without being pushy or annoying. Ahhh i just wish the 31st would get here so i can chill with thinking about what probs could come up in the next round if i get there.

that tea sounds awesome. I think I’ll have to try it.

My unsubmit button for assignment preferences just popped up, I checked this morning and it wasn’t there, so it must have done so within the past couple of hours. Still blank for documents and still Under Review.

You guys are the only ones that truly understand the anxiety of waiting, it feels nice to go through this waiting game with you.

@townie01 and mangostreet05, I was pretty much guzzling that tea in the days before the final interview, LOL. It totally could have been a placebo effect, but it seemed to work.

And hmm…my unsubmit button just popped back up as well. I’m guessing it means nothing and is just further proof that this site is glitchy!

@juliaf9, my TF status is Complete and my unsubmit button is gone. It popped up yesterday though.

I don’t mean to add to the stress here over the TF stuff, but I promised an update so here it is: TF status now reads “Complete” for me, and my documents all say “YES” under the verification column. I doubt much will happen over the weekend, so maybe we can all take a deep breath and try to focus on other things until Monday? It’ll be over soon.

I feel like there are a lot of people who posted in here and then disappeared… Come back friends! This is definitely turning into an online support group. And I love it!
