Teach For America 2014 Corps

Hey guys! It looks like almost everyone switched from complete to under review who was complete. I think this is a good sign, not a bad one, as it is following the trend from last year. I am confident every person who switched to incomplete or complete and is now back to under review has a spot on the corps. Do not fret! I think we will be seeing TF status change a ton Wednesday night and Thursday day. I just want to get through tomorrow. Once it’s Wednesday, it’ll be so close it doesn’t matter anymore. And I think we’ll be seeing a lot of TF activity Wednesday to keep us occupied on here!

Hello everyone I’ve missed a much but here’s my update…my status still reads complete this is my first time checking it today. I’ve also heard of people’s status changing and then changing back. I’ve also heard of people’s status never changing from complete. I’m not worrying too much about it. In a few days we will all know…:)

This is mainly directed towards people who have seen changes to their TF: did you guys have any special circumstances for your assignment preferences?

@almostapostgrad–yes, I indicated special circumstances to stay in the region. I would love to hear a theory on this if you have one to share!

I personally did not.

@almostappostgrad I am changed to complete (but not back to under review like some people) and I had requested a special circumstance to Chicago because my fianc

Yea some people had their status change last week, I’m assuming today some of those status have changed back to “under review”. Mine still reads complete…

Yes, I did a special request. It wasn’t a super need, but more a matter of large convenience. I’m not sure if that affected it at all. I was “Complete” pretty early on, and just changed to “Under Review” around 5pm this evening.

@victoriapat–there was a person at my Final Interview that asked a similar question about being waitlisted if the special circumstance was not able to be accommodated at the time. Our Interviewer answered that if they were accepted but couldn’t be placed in their special circumstance region, they would be placed elsewhere and it would be up to them if they wanted to accept the offer.

I should have looked into special request more closely. If they don’t get placed in special request area, are you still able to be placed elsewhere? Anyone know how that works?

No special circumstance for me, but mine changed to complete a week ago.

@victoriapat yes we are in the same boat, like I’ve previously stated I’m not gonna read too much into it. I only know of one person who’s status changed to complete and wasn’t accepted.(there was speculation that the “complete” may have been inaccurately reported". We shall see! I didn’t include special circumstances though and my preferences were very broad. The only levels I didn’t preference wereSE, PreK and Math.

Does anyone know of anyone who had a status change to complete and was not accepted?

I did as well, similar to Senorita, it was a matter of large convenience than need, and wasn’t for a specific region but a few. I was under review, was asked for further documentation and was switched to incomplete, and have been back under review since I submitted the documentation. Looking at last year, every one who had this experience was either accepted or waitlisted, but they also switched to complete the day before or day of acceptance. So I am HOPING BIG TIME that I will switch to complete in the next few days, as I know that’s a strong indicator.

Those of you who have seen a change from complete to incomplete, I want to wish you an early congratulations! I respect your paranoia but come on, you’re as in as it gets!

@TFAhopeful21 That’s good to know! I was actually a bit too afraid to ask it because I thought it might affect the interviewers opinion of me and see me as needy (if that makes any sense at all) . But unfortunately that is a pretty big factor for me (although I wish it wasn’t). I would also really REALLY hate to get accepted but then unable to go through with this.

So we sort of went through this before, but I saw very few waitlists (actually, I didn’t see any) for the 1DL and 2DL applicants last year. Do you all foresee a similar outcome or no?

@TeachtoReach, there was the one guy last year in 1/2DL who quoted exactly what the status changed to say. He was not accepted. He had a pretty specific request for placement, a family etc. Then there were a variety of people who posted that their status changed to complete and then didn’t post again. So there is no data there.

@emac542 if they asked for further documentation, I would see that as a really good sign, as that means they are looking at your stuff!

GAH…of course now that I WANT my TF status to be “under review” it won’t be! Oh, ridiculous…

@tinitafish you’re right I did see that, it seems a bit weird. Well maybe mine will change or maybe not haha

So everyone was looking for a status change of complete now everyone wants to see under review again lol

I know it’s not THIS serious, but is anyone else wanting to crawl in a hole and not leave it until Thursday around 8pm? LOL

I believe @toots99k discussed that same guy previously on this board and informed us he was reporting the “Complete” on the main page, not a “Complete” on the TF Status page…
